Caffeinated drinks is just so cheap to produced, once you get the marketing right, it's just insane profitability. Almost as cheap as water but you can sell it at a very high price.

I work as an account manager for Red Bull
The mark up of these products is insane
Marketing is our biggest expense and the amount of units will sell is wild
We were close to selling a billion cans in the UK alone last year
If we assume each of them had a mark up price of let's say around 40-60p it really adds up!

As someone who likes energy drinks, Monster is something I do drink but I also know it's not healthy, so I drink it only on weekends (especially since caffeine works better if you don't consume it every day)...still, anything can be harmful in too great a dose! You can die of water poisoning (!) - yes, only water, in huge quantities, no extra ingredients needed! If you consume 6 liters (for a 70 KG - yes kilogram, we don't use stupid measurements here in Europe anymore! - adult man) in a very short time, you can die!

I wish they would come out with an energy drink that just tastes like Coke or Pepsi or sprite that would be nice. But I gotta say Reign is still reining champion as far as energy drinks go for me

I stay away from caffeinated drinks. Period.
Caffeine is addictive, effects diminish with time, and this race to put in more and more caffeine in drinks isn't healthy imo

If you had $100 how would you turn that in to $1000 dollars is the question you broke people should be asking instead of spending your hard earned money 9 to 5 money on those new Nikes you seem you love why not spend it on making more money!
