Couldn't help making that dumb joke lol - finally got to checking out the drink lookbook video earlier today btw one of the best things you put out imo
many years ago i downloaded lua.....and made something just BARELY beyond a hello world. it was nice, but i never continued. is love easier than godot?
It would be cool to see this game expanded with stuff like the process of making the ingots or more complex swords like Damascus blades or making the guards Idk I'm just the local nerd.
Thanks! I believe I only used one library, the dialove one, and I've linked that in the description already. If you want you can take a peek at the source code of this game on my github: github.com/SquidGodDev/TinyForge
Good question. I think I stopped because I stopped having fun developing it and I think I bit off a bit more than I can chew, so probably not. Unfortunately as a hobbyist developer I have to follow my interests since I only have so much time on my hands. My plan is to wait for the Playdate to come out and make a bunch of games for that I think.
Well, I already had years of coding experience before this, so don't get too discouraged :) I also have a couple videos to help with learning Lua basics if you need it: th-cam.com/video/C4o7n0LNQhA/w-d-xo.html
Yeah it was tough for me too coming from Unity/Godot - I really had to put myself into a different mindset of being prepared to code almost everything myself from scratch.
"with 3 exes, u should get some dating advice" lmaoooooo

what a amazing video! this deserves sm more love, it was simple, educational, and entertaining thank you!
love2d is my favorite framework since i knew lua a lot

Welcome to the deep end. You've discovered my OG content.
i like the pixel art
this is sooo good
An amazing video! If possible could you link all the libraries you used in the description!? I'm interested in implementing some of them in my game!

@@SquidGodDev oke
what software did you use to design UI of the game?
I used Aseprite
can i have the source code? im new in love2d and lua, i need some example code for UIs, animation, etcc
@@theonlybow5130 it's on my GitHub github.com/SquidGodDev/TinyForge
How did you mastered love2d in a fast amount of time
Haha I wouldn't say I've mastered love2d - just learned the basics
would you like to tell me, how many hours/day did you spent/allocate to develop the game? thank you
Took a week and about 50ish hours, so maybe like 8-10 hours a day
@@SquidGodDev Thank you for answering ✨✨
What tool is used to make the art? Does it run on linux?
I use Aseprite. Runs on Ubuntu
whats the software you use in the beginning?
To display all the designs? Figma! It's an online graphic/UI design software that's free for individuals.
@@SquidGodDev Thanks a lot
How do you learn this so fast?
Went to school for programming related major and I code for my full time job
For some people it's so ez to make game & am still struggling to learn lua

love2d is really hard to use, i cant edit the map or player quad as construct or unity
Yeah it was tough for me too coming from Unity/Godot - I really had to put myself into a different mindset of being prepared to code almost everything myself from scratch.
@@SquidGodDev cant export to apk :v
You can use something called tiled and use the sti (simple tiled implementation) to use ui and map editor to make maps
Which is the opposite for me, I'm more comfortable with coding than using a UI
