We made this yesterday and it's wonderful! Our only difference was not having the custard powder. We had wondered what it is used for, since it's basically corn flour with vanilla. I have watched this twice more and am editing out part of my comment because it didn't make sense. The corn flour stuck to the bowl so bad, we are going to try it again to see if I did something wrong. But looking at Jeremy's chicken right before it goes into the oil, it looks similar to mine, just not PASTED together. I have a new question that I hope someone from SOW will see.. Will twice frying the chicken make it more crisp? I've seen that on other channels, but not sure I've seen it here. I didn't want to dry it out last time, so it wasn't as crisp or dark as what Jeremy has after frying. ALSO! I am so glad he talked about reusing the oil. I've always strained the oil through a coffee filter to reuse it and my husband thought it was gross. If you are just deep frying chicken, why not use it again? I don't mean to use it until it's dark as motor oil, but using it a couple of times saves money and oil from going into the garbage.
Brilliant! About a week ago I searched for 'school of wok lemon chicken' and was disappointed by its non-existence. But now it is here, and I have all the ingredients.

@@SchoolofWok I need help!!! I have tried the lemon chicken recipe. It was going well until I added the corn starch paste. I have mixed about equal parts water and corn starch. It made a non-neutonian fluid (will flow but you can`t punch trough), and it basically hardened in one glob as SOON as it touched the lemon juice and honey mixture. What did I do wrong? Too hot? not enough water in the paste? In the end I saved the dish by using off-the-shelf general tso sauce I had instead, it was a least edible, but I really wanted to try the lemon sweet and sour :( Thank you so much!
