They do watch. I'm in Middleburg Heights Ohio, Jamie, and I feed the birds and squirrels and some others who visit, and its almost overwhelming-,-the😢 responsibility I feel for their sustainence. We have lots of cold and single digit temps at night, so if I don't leave a ton of seed and peanuts amd walnuts I feel terrible guilt. So! Every morning, come hell or high water, I'm out there. They can't live in our winters without human help. So glad you feed them, too.😊❤ We had an owl three days ago, huge wingspan, eyeing the birds. Predator, but he's meat eater, so the critters have to be careful. Everyone has to eat, sadly some are carnivores.....life is tough all around, especially in winter😢

I had a male and female Pileated Woodpecker, in my backyard, here in Ohio, the other day. Boy, they are big. Bigger than crows. First time seeing them, here, even though they are supposed to be year-round residents, in this area.. They stopped long enough to get a bite, from the suet cake and didn't even, leave a tip. lol! I feel your pain, with filling the feeders. I filled them up and within an hour or two, the birds had them empty. Hungry birdies. Have a great day.
Yes, we have pileated woodpeckers here in East Tennessee. They’re becoming harder to find because they love wooded areas with tall trees. Unfortunately their habitat is being destroyed because of so much building. They are beautiful birds.
When it snows in Alabama, way down in the south, its more of a holiday! Everything closes. We don’t know how to drive in winter weather, and so it just shuts down for the day. No school no mail no groceries just stay home and you’re forced to play with your children and enjoy the day. Its quite whimsical!
I'm in Central Alabama also and always praying for some snow. Just a little bit because we just can't handle it here, and EVERYTHING closes down. There's always some people who try to drive in it, and the roads will be lined with cars in the ditches.

Just bought the hubby a heated water bowl for his free loading friends. He’s got 5 bird feeders, and 3 to 4 areas that he puts out corn to feed the deer and squirrels.
Sir, as suggestion as a longtime Jeep owner, in the winter if it starts snowing lift your windshield wipers off the glass if you are not moving your vehicle for sometime it prevents you having to dig them out & makes it easier to clear the windshield of snow and ice. Live in the North East part of the United States.
