@user-iz8pg8zz1b nah, I want that Korg product leader/manager fired. They seriously need to get rid of that moron. I really don't like the direction they've taken with a bunch of their synth products when it comes to the user interfaces, from Nautilus to the recent digital synths.
Fair point. I sent them an idea about merging their NP12 keybed with the 7/8 size keys with the Yamaha CP series and it's awesome sounds to create a 61 key version of that wicked little electric piano that we all love. That would be the best! And theoretically it shouldn't take that long to prototype and manufacture engineer to start manufacturing. But... Who knows if they will do it or not
@ I agree they are probs the best of the bunch, but even then, the "new" Kronos is embarrasing tbh. And the rest of their lineup (minus the modwave & drum machine) is a regurgitation/augmentation of an intrument they made decades ago. Personally I'm just so sick of being gaslit into wanting to spend money on what are tiny incremental improvements on things that are already done better in the box now. The best samplers are VSTs. The best (digital) synths are VSTs. The best FX are VSTs. There is really no excuse for these companies with multimillion dollar marketing budgets to be so lackluster in their R&D. Spend more on what matters. People know who they are already. Rant over lol 🤣🤗
It’s a great device when paired with a keyboard controller. The sounds are excellent. Love the DX engine. This update is well-done. Love my SEQTRAK. But please make a Reface Motif.
@@Jason75913It’s a thinner gauge of plastic, for sure. The only upside to that though is that it’s very lightweight. If they ever make a MK2, I’d want swappable batteries instead of a built-in.
@@MosEisleySpacePort1138 The companies are all going for built-in, I would prefer to be able to use the rechargeable AA or AAA Eneloops I've sworn by for years now. What we can hope for is that the built-in batteries be socketed for easier servicing like in the Roland S-1.
Every time I see a SeqTrak video I’m tempted, but then I look across the room and my Deluge (which now also has a built-in DX7) is looking at me like “wtf are you thinking”…
At the moment my favourite device. Sounds amazing and has great performance possibilities. For performing you don’t need a screen. I allways have my Iphone and Macbook with me so when it comes to sound design and preparing I connect it to the Seqtrak. Great, inexpensive move by Yamaha. Really love this approach. Thanks.
I don’t know if this machine is really an improvement over a RM1x from almost three decades ago. In fact, to me, it looks, sounds and feels like a step backwards. It seems fun to play, and it looks cool, but that’s it.
I mean this in the nicest possible way, but Yamaha, Korg and Roland seriously need some fresh blood in their dev teams.
Korg are ok...the others not so much.

This thing looks like you have to operate it through a keyhole to get to functions , all these button presses

I love that Yamaha have Behringered Teenage Engineering.
Except Behringer usually adds some extra things.
And TE products, while ridiculously overpriced, are cool.

Its actually super fluid and fun. Doesn't replace my mpc but it does go easily with me and pairs too with the small roland Aria
This is one of the coolest pieces of kit from Yamaha in a while! Hope they sell a Seqtrak Pro in time
It sure looks like it, but I'm told the build quality is piss poor. Probably best to wait for a Mk2 before I try one myself.
Build quality is fine

Easier servicing for built-ins would be amazing.
I just love it when I have to connect my dawless instrument to a tablet !

Finally a company which is compatible with android and has bluetooth as well.
I think this is pretty cool. Yamaha shouldn't shy away from the dance market. It's using tech they already mastered, but making it more accessible.
sick-track
Yamaha, we just want an RS7000 mk2
Was hoping for a software update that added a screen.

Well im buying one now! 🎉
Yamaha please add a switch to set the drums on the same midi channel
Bad Gear channel has a very true video on this thing.
wow, they added all the stuff that every other thing ever already had - amazing!
I thought ASM was there
I want more instruments add tracks.
Just make a modern RM1x/RS7000 please. Stop trying to copy the hipster toy market.
25 years later, a simple QY100 is still better than this toy... Useless product.
Have you actually used one? It's quite capable machine that now has sample looping as well. Very fun to play live as well.
@@jmsobe can you chromatically play samples via Midi keyboard or does it just changes pitch on a per step keylock
Different price points though.
All 20 people who bought one of these are going to love this update!
Nasty
you win the tubes today :)
Better than a Korg product that gets no update.
What are you on about?! This is an awesome deal
😂😂
