@@mikesrcgarage Like the front bumper and such? Ebay is probably the best source for that. The things like the 3D printed engine is sold by Shapeways: www.shapeways.com/marketplace?type=product&q=sand+scorcher
The Sand Scorcher is a classic, always good to see in its natural habitat - the beach, the sand, perhaps not the surf. SO you have 2? or more? I took mine out for a first run today - put it on its side and broke a mirror. I have been searching for Scorcher videos for a few weeks now while I have been building mine - not much recent work available, good on you for putting up this one - enjoyed it
Thanks for the great comment! Yes, i have 2. One for doing things like this and another just for show purposes at Beetle meetings. The mirrors are horribly weak, i leave them off when i'm driving. You're also in need of a job? i Feel your pain man :( Enjoy your Scorcher mate!
2stroke4me No, no - I still have a job, although there has been cut backs and layoffs in the last month - I meant "not many recent videos available" - currently looking to build a trailer to transport my Scorcher to the beach behind my CR01 Toyota :-)
Yeah no problem. Do you have an original clod buster? Any vids? That was the first hobby grade r/c I ever had a chance to drive around and I still want to have one since 1988 if I remember.
ernesto bruno No i don't have one. But i remember seeing one after they came out in the 80's. Blew my mind! That was the first realistic rc monster truck and it still is the most realistic to this date.
Great video man, really am kinda falling in love with the classic Tamiyas. Hope you have it a good rinse off after that salt water!! What happened to the engine block you had on it?
Thanks mate. Yeah, the classic Tamiyas are great. i Know i love my classics and find myself using them more often. Probably because of the "i don't know why but they're big fun" factor, lol! This is not the detailed Scorcher with the engine. This one is made for offroad abuse without feeling bad of damaging something. Check out the annotation for more info of this Scorcher.
Hi, i've just renovated my 2008 sand scorcher and want some advise, if thats o.k - i run mine on a 27MH AM ACOM transmitter, and wish to know if this will operate a new leopard V2 9 to 13T brushless motor and esc? if not what speed controller can i get as my original is now not reliable. appreciate some guidance cheers.
Jonathan Christie The only experience i have with brushless systems are with servo's. However, i laid down the question to someone who has experience with brushless systems and we came to the conclusion that it's not common to have a 27mHz receiver paired to a brushless system, it should be possible. All i can say is to try it out and if you would like, let us know your result!
Cheers to days like these brother, truly awesome and inspiring! I hope we both can live them again :-)
Thanks brother! I truly hope so, beach scorching is so much fun!
@@2stroke4me We will bro we will and that it is! Do you know where to get any trick parts for the Scorcher?

Looks like it needs paddles on the rear. Would throw some mean rooster tails. Like it a lot. Cool vid.
It's got the original paddle tires but they're only small. Thanks for the nice comment :)
