@@AntHolleufer It seems to be a queen and a worker at minimum. I don't really know as they don't really leave the snail house. I would have to crack it to get them out, which would result in destroying all the brood...
I think you should try out some snails and earthworms as the snails will eat the vegetation and the earthworms will make you soil full of nutrients. Also with the Spring tails you should leave the mealworm prices 1 out of 4 pieces you feed so for every 1 out of 4 you feed keep it in. Great Vid!
Love This! These were the videos I was looking for. I’m making a new channel and will keep you updated. I’m getting a 4ft aquarium, making a small “river” within it, you’ll see anyhow... I’ve been pondering on it a while. Love your videos, keep it up. Also, that lid is just mosquito net but how did you make it? Maybe a tutorial or something on how you made the lid would be awesome! Peace out. Much love
Well i just water them with some clean water in a bottle with a spray on top. And well the soil I used was just from the outside, tho here in Denmark we don’t have a lot of toxic soil. But I don’t know your local soil conditions 😕
I wouldnt worry with the springtails in there. Personally I would get rid of the feeding bowl because it's a bio active enclosure, springtails will do a good job of getting rid of anything the ants dont want including the dead ants, and in return giving the soil and plants more nutrients. I have a large isopod colony which has about 500 to 1000 isopods in it and I will once a week give them an 1 piece of fruit chopped up. I have never removed any of the waste and the enclosure doesnt smell. Clean up crews are amazing
I found myself a myrmica rubra colony in a snail house today. Perfect timing!
Wow. How big? A single queen or?🤔

Yeah if I was you I’d wait. But congrats on your finding 😄
@@AntHolleufer thanks!

I’m working on the next one 😄

Thanks 😄 and thanks for telling 😅😄

Thanks 😄 and since your not the first to suggest it I’m apparently soon going snail hunting 😅😄
But how do I keep the snails inside the formicarium?
I have done some research now and in fact i would not add snails. As they can kill some plants. the best option would just be cutting back the plants.
Ants UK okay thanks for telling 🤔 mind add just one snail and see how it goes 🤔
Do you have discord? So we can talk more often?
Great video. Could it be that your isopods are still growing and just shedding their exoskeletons?
🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ not sure. But there’s Isopoda babies now 😅😄
@@AntHolleufer Sweet :)

Can u make a new myrmica rubra video again. İ think they are very big colony now. I wonder
New video out on the 4. January. Tho they’re in hibernation at the moment so not much to update on 😕
@@AntHolleufer oh sory i forgot the hibernation.
@@AntHolleufer I also have a question. how do you water the plants? I want to do this for my myrmica too, but not sure.
@@AntHolleufer and where do you get the land from? I'm worried it might be toxic to any soil😕

Add some moss, for more green, and maybe some pieces of wood and it will be fine...
Yeah I have thought of that as well 🤔☺️
you should let the plants grow unless they become an escape route for the ants
Thanks for telling. I have actually done exactly that 😅😄
👍👍👍
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The feeding dish / bowl looks a bit dirty
