the thing that bugs me is when people call out devs as lazy or greedy for decisions that only publishers make. user reviews have gotten really freaking entitled over the last ten years,, and the worst of it always seems to come from people who don't know the first thing abpout the industry or how it works. folks often don't see devs as people, and say stuff about and to them that they'd never say to someone's face. i've seen death threats in user reviews over bugs. but tbh i do love reading 1 star reviews of really believed games for laughs sometimes. i saw a guy one star the sequel to Pillars of Eternity because it had an intro. i've seen a guy pan a 20b year old game cuz the cutscenes had subtitles they couldn't turn off. the stuff people come up with is hilarious. but i think my favorite was once when i saw a dude 1 star Rage 2, a game about consequence free murder and big cars in an apocalyptic wasteland, made by the people who made Doom, because in his words it was "woke trash" lmao. no idea what he thought that word means actually cone think of it, i saw an identical review, same phrasoung and everything, from a totally different person, on Fallout 4. some folks are just not mentally equipped to be on the internet lol
i mean...what's the point of success if you still have to do you're own dishes? the FIRST thing i'd do if i came unto money is hire a maid and a butler and a PA. I don't need fast car, i don't need a giant house. But i do need a manservant. I'll call him sebastian.
tiktok isn't a reward, it's a punishment lol. short form videos make me miserable. i always feel sad and dumb after watching them. there's so much interesting, in-depth, thoughtful, provocative content in the world. the trick, i think, is to avoid content that feels disposable. because what you put into it get discarded alongside the content.
