Thank you. I've been window shopping between Epson, HP and others.

One good thing about the Canon printers is they have print heads that are user replaceable, although expensive, the pf-10 is the current printhead and it's about $725. But you can sometimes find it for less.
With my Canon pro 4000, even if I have not printed in a month or so, when I turn it on and do a nozzle check it will do a short cleaning cycle and then all the nozzles will look perfect. Although I do believe the more recent Epson printers have gotten better with this.

It looks like an impressive piece of kit. Definitely would love something like this. Perhaps something a little smaller as I think I would just like to make prints up to maybe A2 size. Thanks for sharing your experience with this printer Krystle :o)

Walmart uses this printer. I was wanting to get some prints done but no one can answer my question which is-DO I use CMYK or RGB for hi-res prints for 12x18 or 20x16??

I embed the color profile sRGB because most printers can print well with that one. CMYK sometimes has not as vibrant colors.

@@KrystleColeArt Ok thank you very much! I had a look at the manual for the SC-P6000 and it said for best results use Adobe RGB. Do you think Adobe would work for this printer? I have been using sRBG for some prints at Walmart and the colors and saturation always seems off. Gradients seem filled in too. My art is digital with very high details and I work on a BenQ with 99% Adobe. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question!!

Getting the colors to match is more about having the printer optimized to how you are seeing things on your computer screen. The problem is their printer is probably configured to their screen, or maybe not configured to any screen. But it is certainly not configured to your computer screen. This is why it's always better to make your own prints. My suggestion would be to make a test print with them, then take it home and adjust the colors to make it look better according to how the colors were off in their test print. Submit the new digital file to them, have them print that one. Then see if the colors are better. Do several test prints like this, adjust until the colors are dialed in. You could also try different color profiles, like Adobe RGB. But honestly, it probably won't solve your issue. Worth a try, though. I mean, it would be cool if it were that easy of a fix. You also need to make sure they're using the correct printer profiles for the paper they are printing on. Since it's Walmart, the person operating it might not really know that much about what they're doing. If you have the printer profile off, it could create the printing issues that you're describing. There's just no way to know 100% without being there and actually seeing what's going on with the printer/your prints.

@@KrystleColeArt Thank you very much! I think you're spot on. I just got some prints done and again the colors are way off, under saturated and the blacks are too dark along with the whites seeming to be grey. NO ONE at Walmart even knows what the color space is and it makes sense that they wouldn't know what to do. If I had the money and space for the P6000 I would get one for sure. I was planning to make those color corrections and go back. I see that matching the paper makes a ton of sense too, and I doubt they would even know this. I really appreciate you giving me some more insight on this! TY!!
