I just purchased Comfrey for the 2nd time. The first time I bought the root stock...it didn't grow. So I'm hoping it will grow this time. This time, it actually had growth on the root stock. Also great video. Tfs -T
Another great video, dude. Excellent info. A lot of people don't know how to make a fertilizer from clippings, nor do they truly understand how well it works. 🤘
I and a mate recently did an experiment with how small I could make cuttings from it and from 2 or 3 established root systems. You can take 5mm cuttings and they'll propagate. We have 400+ plants now. Going to put them (about 5 plants) in a fairy ring around every tree. This will provide the feeder roots shade in hotter months, not to mention the free fertilizer. You can make a supercharged fermented fertilizer with comfrey, alfalfa and stinging nettle. You just get a bucket or drum with water and just keep adding to it. The longer it ferments, the stronger it gets. You can also add weeds, clippings etc. The alfalfa has a growth hormone in it called Triacontinol which is fantastic.
Oh wow! that sure is a great experiment James! Comfrey here in New Zealand grows really well for us, its has become a weed at our Community garden 😂. But, yes it sure is a very good fertilizer in the garden, heaps of potassium in it. Thanks for watching, Cheers
Fabulous I’m growing some from seed but as I’m not sure if it’s the spreading variety I’ll grow it in a pot (Etsy seeds). Have a fantastic weekend stay safe, Ali ☔️☔️🇨🇦
Comfery is definitely an herb that I am interested in learning more about. I live in a temperate climate with cold winters, so I am not sure how it would do here. I have also heard there are different varieties of comfrey and one is invasive and the other isn’t but not sure if that is reliable information or not.

Yes! I've also heard that there are different varieties, but I think that the variety in the video is the most common one
I think it's called boking 14 from Russia, the non invasive type. The seeds are sterile but I can't say yet as iv only had it 6 months.👍🤠
A good mulch, chop and drop.
Definitely!
Im not growing comfrey
Great information I would like to grow 1❤
Best of luck!
Do NOT use comfrey on an open wound! Only on bruises.
Good to know! thanks for the info!
