    Thank you so much for this. I'd tried a few other sky replacement videos and methods and none of them were anywhere near as good as this! I followed your steps and ended up with an image i'm really happy with. Now i just need to repeat it a few times to memorise!

    Thanks for an awesome tutorial. I've decided to do at least 1 Photoshop tutorial a day while on break from school. I think I've found my source.

    You could save yourself quite a bit of time by copying the first mask you used to mask out the subject onto the subsequent layers needing to be masked, rather than painting each effect off the subject separately. To copy a painted mask onto another layer, simply Alt-drag the mask up to the next layer on which you need to mask the subject.

    When you are pressing shift and swiping across and the picture is showing up what is this command? I have the newest photoshop and am up to this step but when i hold down shift nothing happens? Help please?!

    • @petrapeter8718
      @petrapeter8718 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      double click on shift

    • @DrUndies
      @DrUndies 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      With a brush selected..
      1: Place & click the brush where you want to start.
      2: Press & hold shift
      3: Move the brush to the next place and click ... it will draw a straight line across the two points.

    • @MissTams86
      @MissTams86 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there when I try this step, the swipe removes my entire picture, not just the sky. I have followed the instructions and ensured my settings are the same as in video. I am using CS6. What am I doing wrong? Is there a different command (to shift) for Mac users?

    • @MsC0untrygirl
      @MsC0untrygirl 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Holding Shift down when you swipe a brush vertically (or horizontally) merely keeps the brush in a straight line, it doesn't do anything to the effect.

    how about not making the sky so sharp since it's suppose to be out of focus?

    • @TomGrubbe
      @TomGrubbe 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it looks completely fake with a sharp sky.

  • @TomGrubbe
    @TomGrubbe 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It still looks like a fake sky. You should also blur the sky to match the original shot, desaturate the blue in the sky and add a slight amount of the sky's orange color to the highlights in the foreground.
