Hi David Lovebites has just released a Live version from the knockin at heavens gate 2023 concert their return to stage with Fami they are fantastic 🤘🐺
I thought you were reacting to the new "live" video. The day before yesterday the "live" video of this song finally came out and it's really a feast for the eyes and ears, definitely watch the video privately, the comparison is really blatant, the ladies have once again upped the ante, especially Haruna gives continuous fire, there is even a fire extinguisher next to the drum kit 😂😲😳🤘
If you want to experience an actual earthquake provided by Haruna, check out the recent live version of this song. You may add 0.3-0.4 to the score 😉 Thank you (and Hamish Alexander) 🐺🤘🏻
This song was the opening track of the "best of" CD/blue-ray called "In the Beginning - The Best of 2017-2021". Essentially, this track showcases the chronology of Lovebites' journey from the band's inception to the time when Miho left, which is one reason why it's so long. BTW, Lovebites just dropped a LIVE clip of "Nameless Warrior" from their "Knockin' at Heaven's Gate" DVD/blue-ray which featured new Bassist Fami.
You are right with your expectations and I have not known Lovebites to not meet my expectations and most of the time exceed them. They have come back with the new bassist, Fami, and again, exceeded my expectations.
Thank you for the reaction as expected 🙏 The first solo credit: Midori (G) & Miyako's organ solo (B3) not sure who harmonizing who The 3rd solo? In live show it's an excuse for both M&M to stand beside Haruna so the three can do awesome instrumental section side by side So yeah for entertainment purpose it's necessary 🤞
Thanks for the reaction David and the Lovebites support! When you get some free time, check out the version of this song just released from this year's concert. New, more modern instrumentation, a different bass line from Fami and of course the happiness and joy on the faces of the band members to be back in front of an audience. Asami is running around the stage with joy. The original song is great, but this concert version is a miracle. th-cam.com/video/Dl29tiJCbNM/w-d-xo.html
To address the dozens of comments witch will come..... Yes, there is now a live version, but this request here was done in June, and nobody could have known that they would release this song live in August... But I think the MV is a very good choice for reacting. Also David, you should watch the Live version for your own.
Thank you for the request Hamish 🙏 I hope David check the new live version out just to witness Haruna's drumming, her double kicks and cymbal works deserve massive respect David, hypothetically, you don't have to change the score, after you watch the live version, and see what's Haruna doing for the song, would you still give a 8.7?
@@dino.mozardien I wouldn't know unless I watched the live version. I'm holding off on watching it because I don't want to ruin a potential reaction request.
@@THEDavidHeretic It's interesting that you would potentially do another reaction for this song. I'll look forward to it. Few other songs that might change your opinion when it's performed live that in the past you thought 'maybe not their best' at times such as Winds of Transylvania or A Frozen Serenade (both from 2021 live show), or maybe the upcoming live version of Judgement Day
Summer'21 miho, founder and leader left, they had been in a bad place already with the whole covid situation, and they debated if it was time to disband the band now that they were there without guide. Of their reunion the decision of keep on with the band was made, they would take some time to put order on their personal lives (asami and miyako were marrying and having babies) and search a new bass player through an audition process. Meanwhile, a compilation album appeared with this song as an original. The album was "In the Beginning", that shows that this was just their first era, not the end, just the times when they started the band. And Nameless Warrior is a recollection of their memories during this first five years, from their first test secret concert at the start of the video to their last performance at the end. And a good bye, "Now is the time, we'll never forget, Nameless Warrior".
Miyako is playing Hammond B3 organ in the first solo! And yes, Midori also knows how to play keyboard, she is classicaly trained on piano since age two, Midori often uses keyboard to compose guitar solos.
Thank you for your reaction David! 🤘 It's the last song recorded by Miho. The video is a retrospective of their five years together, from the secret live in Aug 2016 until Ride for Vengeance in March 2021. The running wolf symbolizes this progression. At the end, it stops but then gets back running as the sakura trees start blooming again. Btw, they actually can all play piano (not at Miyako's level tho) (Midori learned electric organ until 20 before learning guitar)
Good review as usual, FYI: set your reminder, because their official TH-cam will do world premiere e-viewing "Knockin At Heavens Gate" on August 12, 2023
A little bit of context here about that 'fanmade' feeling about the clip. This song came right after Miho, the former bassist and leader of Lovebites, which she founded with Haruna the drummer, left the band. These live compilations are actually a tribute to that so called Nameless Warrior who is, you guessed it, Miho. Most Lovebites songs are usually written by one single member of the band then arranged by the rest. For example, those typical trash metal songs are Miho's signature like Thunder Vengeance or Raise Some Hell while the power metal ones can be attributed to either Miyako or Mao (The unofficial 6th member imo as he basically plays all the synth parts of every Lovebites song) Nameless Warrior is the only song that has been credited to be equally written by all four remaining members in that case. It can be considered as both a heart broken farewell since none of those girls never wanted Miho to leave and also a wish of her well being in the future.
Was hoping for the new live version with Fami This video is the last song Miho played. For me it is a farewell video about Miho. Wandering by her own!fro
This was a good bluff! LOL While the whole world is reacting to their first live performance of this song (under 2 days old), you are reminding us of that great MV with live footage from 2017 - 2021. No, it's not live, just kind of synchronize, although not 100% fitting, the live video is on their TH-cam channel and was premiered on Saturday: "Nameless Warrior" (live), taken from upcoming "Knockin' At Heaven's Door"...
noooo, Lovebites just released the live concert version of this song yesterday.... and i saw your upload and was like "bro youre so fast? how did you manage to get it done already" but its not it
This video is a compilation of the bands history from the beginning of the time Miho left hope to see you react to the live version they just released (ft Fami on bass this time) and the Official live version of “the Hammer of Wrath” also ft Fami in the live setting (and yes you have reacted to that song (from 2020 with Miho on bass)
When requests return to some sort of normality, I will request the live version that has only just been released. Provided you have not decided to watch this with the numerous requests to do so in the comments, it is well worth seeing this song performed live. Miyako almost moves as much as she did in Lovebites earliest days. Funnily enough, i have hardly watched this video since it was released as I agree with many of your points about the song. So it was in trepidation that I watched the live version. It certainly made me sit up and watch. I don't want to give anything away but if you don't smile, you are dead inside! 😁 A good score and I do hope that if you have not seen the live version, you hold off until it get requested by me. This maybe some time. However I believe many others will request it.
Great reaction as usual David. As you noticed Asami pretty much goes through her complete vocal range, from low to high, without any loss of integrity. I was surprised that you reacted to this version, rather than the recently released live version of the song from their first live gig with Fami on bass. I don't know if you'll consider it, but I'd like to hear you compare and contrast the new live version with the studio version you reacted to here. Though I rarely comment, you are one of my favorite reactors because you take the trouble to explain and qualify your reactions. As a musician you understand what is going on musically, and do a good job of pointing out the intricacies of the musicianship involved. That's especially helpful where Lovebites are concerned. Best wishes always.
Love this song but it always made me feel a bit sad because it was the last time we ever saw Miho with Lovebites and the future of the band wasn't set on stone at this time. But everything worked out in the end, for both Lovebites and Miho, so the "sad" element about this song has disappeared from my mind. Now it's mostly a feel of nostalgia, but again, not in a sad way.
Mr. Heretic, I totally forgot that this song won the prioritization vote that you posted a couple months ago. With that said, I'm glad you reacted to THIS version of the song, because while the world is reacting to the latest clip of this from Knockin' at Heaven's Gate, I'm glad you DIDN'T react to that, because I'd rather have your first clip of seeing Fami playing live with the band be the first song in the set, which is Hammer of Wrath. I'm seriously thinking of firing up to the highest Patreon level and getting that requested. You need to see Fami playing live with the band to finally see if you think she's a good fit for the band live.
hey david Lovebites new DVD Knockin At Heaven's Gate just came out which is also Fami's first live performance and they released 2 of the live performances so far and the songs are Hammer of Wrath and Nameless Warrior you should check those out please let me know what you think

Bad timing with the release of the live version. M&M should be spoken along side the greats KK/Tipton, Smith/Murray, Hansen/Weikath. Haruna is in an elite class of drummers. I say she is a cross between the mania of Keith Moon and the precision of Neil Peart.
no...not the mv.... 😪 I suppose its a mistake to not watch the live? The original recording I dont even like...go watch the live immediately!! And you SEE Haruna totally dominate the scene! And the song sounds so much better. As always with Lovebites live...
The video is a chronological summary of their journey up to the point of Miho's departure. Pity you didn't get to react to the recent live version of this song. 🤘

Well considering that I filmed this reaction back in June, that wouldn't be possible.
