That’s scenario run data. Meaning they get statistics based on a simulated result. Based on South Africa, which took weeks to peek, I’m going to assume what you looked at was simulated data based on passed variants, rather then real world examples.

If the model is about US than it is definitely wrong. Omicron will most probably peak in the US within 2 weeks and the hospitalizations may peak a weak or 2 after. Consider that results of the model depends on initial assumptions baked in it. I stopped following and trusting any COVID related models as they somehow show results that the authors want to see :)

@@jbs9373 No it's based on our most current data about the efficacy of antigen tests and basic logic and reasoning saying that we shouldn't rely on something with terrible accuracy. I'm not making it up, the FDA announced it a few weeks back in December, the antigen test is far less sensitive to the Omicron variant, therefore produced more false negatives.
