  • Check other videos out!!! this is the REAL DEAL
    The 575 komatsu superdozer is both remote controlled and manually operated ,these are the largest production bull dozer in world, can push up to 180 tonne 1200hp, this clip was captured at stocktons Solid Energy Coal mine near westport in new zealand and is owned by Kaipara ltd. Kaipara have the only two in NZ. there are approximately 70 in the world. The purpose of having this remote controlled is to minimise risk of any persons injured or killed if dozer falls into a large mineshafts.

    I work for this company, they run the same motor as the komatsu 785 trucks, it runs a V12, 1000 hp. Impressive to work with for sure.

    In response to Terry Rack:
    In my experience, over 20 years, you don't just simply walk up and grab a remote for these vehicles. It takes a nearly spotless record of 10+ years of operation before you are even CONSIDERED for this type of operation.

      Cadeucius Ma no shit ,maybe for dumb peoples need 10 years haha.So hard to drive fucking dozer.

      @johnabuick 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Cadeucius That's a load of crap. I've run D11's from the seat and remotely and it really doesn't take ten years of practice to run one remotely. What I don't get is even why they need to run a remote in the situation shown here. Much more efficient from the seat.

      I agree. it is not only to push earth forward and back empty. Mud, deforestation, snow, quarry
      etc. For those who think it is ease I state: The company which hires you is condemned to bankruptcy

      @@user-qi5vf2ws8t VERY TRUE regards the "bankruptcy" I work in a different industry, but...... sadly yes the skilled people are walking out the door and the higher-ups are scratching their heads as to why the work's not getting done.

    I had a idea years ago that remote controll could be used in shaft mining here in east KY to save lives in a cave in. It would take the same amount of men to run the equiptment. They just wouldn't be underground in harm's way. No jobs lost no lives lost

  • @The351441
    @The351441 12 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    reclamation operations such as this, sometimes the walls give way under the load of the dozer, taking the dozer and operator along with it. Remotes remove the operator from the hazard.

  • @t2nz
    @t2nz 13 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    @TheMrBlinx It is on Remote Control because it is ripping and pushing overburden rock above old underground coal tunnels (tunnels from 1890-1940, which were poorly mapped and reported in the historical mine plans). The D575 is being used to remove the risk of human life if it fell into an old tunnel. It is meant to be operated perpendicular to the tunnels as recorded in the historical plans and its size should hopefully prevent it falling into old tunnels.

    As explained there is a high drop over the edge so would be xtra dangermoney -best do it safely by remote control. I believe Komatso have the know how to possibly build a Giant, super- dozer, that would completely dwarf this particular model and the old Italian Acco !

    What a fantasy that would be to wake Xmas or on your Birthday and open the remote control for some kind of large Machine but you would not find out until a week after, how cool would that be? Apart from the 'Automatic Driver-less 597's in Chile I believe, this is indeed the largest and heaviest remote controlled vehicle other than maybe an Aeroplane. What a dream that would be, and for this man, his dream actually came true. I can see why it is used here, but walking in that rock is hard.

    Hi, Folks.
    NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I have been a heavy equipment operator for over 55 years now and the idea of standing around like bump onna log playing with a cuppla little levers while stuck out in the elements instead of being sat comfortably inside an air-conditioned cab does not seem to have quite the same appeal and interest as being in said cab feeling the balance and the power of the machine.
    Just my 0.02.
