In the BTS video Disney made for this episode, they talk about how they intentionally made it rediculous & something they could only do in anime. It was one of the studios that really embraced the wackiness of anime. I love it

Which is funny because trigger did this one and the elder. This one being the most anime, and the elder being the most star wars one.
19:33 Jedi are assigned a colour, actually! Usually blue or green, with exceptions. Sith sabers are red because the kyber crystal has been corrupted; the Sith force the crystal to inflict damage, unnaturally, which makes it "bleed".
I remember in older stories they were red because the kyber crystals were artifical. Was supposed to be the Sith's was of showing controlling over nature why the Jedi tried to harmonize with it

The line of reasoning in the old canon never really made sense to me given what a precious resource kyber is portrayed to be; creating an alternative rather than consuming a limited resource is just more responsible. That doesn't really vibe with the dark side's whole thing, imho.

Nah, it's just Studio Trigger. Not giving a shit about logic and the only rule they follow being the rule of cool is their thing. They made an anime about robots big enough to use real galaxies as throwing stars. There's not supposed to be any logic here.

Whenever someone tries to argue how something is physically impossible... the correct response is always "because anime". Also they should watch Promare (Studio Trigger feature film)
The last thing I watched of Trigger's was Promare and I was so stoked to see their take on Star Wars. Was not dissapointed

They're sith test tube babies , im ok with them doing some wacky shit, and the ships do have shields which is why when a hangar is open they can still breathe, but the android wearing a oxigen helmet at the end was pretty confusing ngl
What's interesting is that Visions is similar to what Disney wanted to do with episodes 7-9, give the series to different writers/directors and have them write whatever they want. I think it's easier for everyone to enjoy Visions because it's not canon and not chronological.
And Episode 7-9 wanted to be some super serious business. Here it's clear from the get go that this is just about going haywire and having a good time and it's not to be taken serious at all.

I remember watching this episode in sub then seeing Neil Patrick Harris in the credits. It made me so shocked lol. Had to go back & rewatch it, I love NPH.

okay enough with the 'but Leia was out in space' argument, Leia used the force to pull herself in space towards a door and spent almost the remainder of the plot in a coma, it ain't the same. People cite it as if Leia was doing a full dance number out in space on a whim then waltzed back inside to have a drink. That being said, Studio Trigger aren't exactly one for abiding the laws of physics

Little bit of nerd knowledge; originally in what used to be cannon [which has since become legends] crystals naturally occurred in specific colors. However in the latest cannon material kyber crystals are shown to be colorless until a force user awakens the crystal with their own force power, at which point the crystal takes on a color representative of the alignment of the one who imbued it. So in this episode, showing a clear crystal split in two, with each piece activated by a different individual of different alignment, resulting in two crystals of different color, is actually correctly following the current cannon.

but to the dark side users is different,
the dark side users corrupt the crystal with the dark side, that is called bleeding the crystal, and then it becomes red
you can unbleed a crystal with the light side but then it becomes white for ever

i mean neil patrick harris and alison brie are seasoned voice actors and deservedly praised here but actually almost all episodes have outstanding actors voicing the characters.
So just to make something clear, this is happening in a Star Wars Parallel Universe and some things are reversed, like drones have helmets not humans, the Death Star dose not exist, this is why they have this special weapon and I think the two twins are the opposite of Leia and Luke (both are good in normal lore), here both are on the Dark Side.

And if someone wants to complain about bad physics, or talking and/or breathing in space, they can take a look at what is considered the most beloved Star Wars movie, episode V, to find characters walking and talking in space, inside a space slug, on an asteroid, with nothing but a breathing mask. I just think calling out TROS for this is silly.
In star wars, movie rules, the crystal has a color to it. However the color can be changed to red, which the sith do this or they will artificial make a crystal. The red from a crystal is essential the crystal bleeding, which is why it turns red.
The sub and the dub can have huge differences, depending on the show you’re watching.
I cried watching this, too amazing. This also could've worked as a film.
Regarding the colours... Visions isn't canon, so they get to play by their own rules. In old 'Legends' canon, the Jedi picked the colour of the crystals, and the colours carried some meaning. In new canon, that still kind of applies. Red crystals become red by way of 'bleeding', something that only the Sith do, so that's why they all have red lightsabers. Otherwise, it's down to the crystal used, so you can get an array of colours. The only colour association I know with current canon is that Jedi temple guards all seem to used yellow sabers.
It's hard to judge because my Trigger-fan half enjoy the same level as my Star Wars loving half. And I REALLY love Star Wars! :D

From what I know from the 2017 Darth Vader comic, Siths steal their kyber crystals from Jedis and turn them red. They make the kyber crystal "bleed" and turn it red by injecting dark force into it.
Star Wars is meant to be watched in english hence why they paid high grade actors to do the voices. But watching both versions is acceptable for sure
Not the most engaging dialogue but the art and fight scenes are amazing. Alison Brie is amazing as Am. A bit disappointed in NPH though, could've been more into it

You should give it another watch. They definitely do suspend their disbelief and make note of that after enjoying the episode fully. All of them loved it.

Personally my least favorite out of all of them. I didn't feel like they did much of anything with star wars so much as they just made an anime.

The blindwave crew came to a description that I really like. That it's like a story being told around a camp fire by someone who doesn't know how space works but has heard tales of the Jedi.

Personally, I prefer watching Trigger's anime subbed, HOWEVER, since episode 3 has a lot of dialogue and a lot of crazy things happening at the same time, I think it was a good choice to watched dubbed. They wouldn't understand most of what happened if they were half paying attention in the scenes and the other half in the subtitles.
Thank god the dub made the dialogue bearable because the lines ate George Lucas levels of awful
Episode 4 is also one of the best examples of English voice acting I have heard in a while.

Well not 100% true. Weeks before seizure released someone in charge of the series mentioned one of the episodes is canon. The ninth Jedi everyone talks about it mainly it’s believed that’s the canon one base on the episode plot, designs of characters and their clothing ain’t out there compare to others in the other episodes. Theme wise it’s legit feels and looks like Star Wars plus of all studios to work on it Production I.G is a pretty big known name in the anime industry.
So far base on response for that episode I wouldn’t be surprised disney may make a deal with them to make a full series for Disney+.

It's a one shot anime episode, who cares if they break a bunch of rules? I enjoyed this one a lot, it was a visual spectacle and just fun and crazy.

I really enjoyed Lop & Ocho, just because Lop was my favourite character from these episodes. But all have their merits.

one of my favorites, the concepts are wild af and the animation was next level
edit: whoever was really butthurt about speaking in space should remember this is about space magic laser swords, monsters on planets, telekinesis, mind control, etc etc. maybe dark side twins speaking in space (with debris floating around them as if there’s some sort of gravity or something on the massive massive ship) isn’t like, the craziest?

Droids without voice actors are always credited as themselves. It’s just sound effects. Well except one that I know of. That one’s VA they kept a secret for a while
In Legends, kybers had color already and in the old republic the colors had meaning but that fell out of practice. So you could pick whichever color you want
In New Canon, kybers are transparent until a force user chooses one and it takes on a permanent color to match the nature of the bonded owner. The blade color could be changed by altering the saber’s frequency, but the crystal retains the original color. So you could still basically pick whatever color
Red crystals aren’t naturally occuring, (except maybe one exception in Legends). In legends continuity, sith and dark siders would make synthetic crystals and pour their negative energy into it, turning it red. There were also crystals that weren’t kybers that could be used as substitutes, some actually better.
In new canon, synthetic kybers can’t be made. A dark sider will pour their negative energy into a kyber crystal, imposing their will on it and turning it red. This is called bleeding.
A white saber in new canon is obtained by healing a red crystal with the force, purging the negative energy
