I would recommend redoing this for stone or lead (stone is good for participating in power events and building some units), (and lead is good for healing most soldiers and building some structures and rituals)

Also bear in mind, that this is just one type of stategy, it might work for you, or it might not, but this video is mainly just to show what is possible :) As I know that there are a lot of players in the game who don't realize what's possible within the game, that even lower level keeps have a lot of potential.
Good Video. I was also considering to have this build of rss types just like yours. My troops eat a lot of food and they eat fast, so I allways have to gather a big amount of food to make some build or to start a ritual..
Your food is spent on soldiers for their maintenance, and for this you improve buildings and items and spend a lot of time for this so that your food growth does not decrease? But why? Are your soldiers dying of hunger? -Yes? -Okey then that's good. Are your soldiers dying of hunger? -No? -Then it is not needed, just collect food when you need it, otherwise forget about it in order to spend your acceleration for useful things.
Which resource you do this for doesn't make a huge difference, since by producing it yourself it just means that you don't need to gather that resource anymore, which balances it out. Although I think that Food is slightly better than the other resources since it's earlier on the talent tree (So costs less talent points) and because of troop upkeep you don't reach your storage caps as quickly. But it's mainly just personal preference.
In general, you need a lot of resources at higher keep levels, so if you have 1 resource which you don't need to gather (Because you produce it yourself), then it makes obtaining the resources you need a lot easier.

You never said WHY you need so much food
