I’m honestly pissed that Thor didn’t go higher than 501. On that day I have no doubt that he could have gone 505 or even 510. But he had to be petty and beat Eddie by 1kg. He did himself a disservice

It's because Thor basically hated strongman. He retired at a time where he was completely dominant and could easily remain dominant for years, but decided he doesn't like it and it's unhealthy, so he called it quits the moment he got an offer to do boxing. He almost never maxed out on things or got obsessed with titles/wins/PRs like Eddie Hall used to do all the time. Eddie was always insanely competitive and always obsessed with getting PRs, strongman was always his obsession whereas for Thor it always felt like something he was doing just because he was forced into it by his genetic gift.
On the day of the 501 kg I can assure you he could have done 510 kg or more, he was insanely strong at that time. Way stronger than Eddy ever was. But like he said, "what's the point?" - guy clearly doesn't care about strongman or his records/legacy, just wanted the promo for his new career in boxing

How do you know that? Thor has never pulled anywhere near 500 kg in a deadlift competition. Here's the list of deadlift world records:

423 kg (933 lb) Andy Bolton (GBR)
