I had this ... 'miscommunication'(?) with my boss last week. I said 'notice', she said 'realise'. Both are very interchangeable in English as well, but 'notice' fits better with your description of 'merken' and 'realise' fits better with 'bemerken' :)
I studied German about 40 years ago, and the "Dictionary of German Synonyms" was one of my textbooks. Did you notice that it was published in 1977? Love your channel, thanks!

Very useful explanations that help me memorize all very quickly. One question: when do we use fur mich and when do we replace it with mir ? The use is very vague . I know that after some verbs we need the Dativ but , because I translate , I find that the use is blurred . Thanks .
I think "with mir" , it is always connected if the Verb use in a sentence REQUIRES (to be REflexive sometime). I hope Ms. Jenny, could clarify to this... :)

+David Mares listening pausing and repeating is definitely one of the fastest ways. Alternately you can create flash cards which is more time consuming but gives you the ability to practice from anywhere at any time. I also provide my patrons on Patreon with the MP3 files and the scripts in PDF. The best way is to take lessons with a teacher who will give you the opportunity to practice all of this. I teach on skype myself but there are also other teachers who do. You can find a bunch of German teachers on verbalplanet or italki

This is how l learn from Jenny's videos: 1- l write down the entire video, that is, all the sentences both in german and english, of course, in my personal notebook. 2- Use your notebook as a blackboard only. For instance: Keep writing the same sentences but in another difference pieces of paper or in another old notebook you don't want any more. 3- Keep doing this as you watch the videos now and then. 4- When writing, do it only in german so you can challenge your brain by rememberin' all the written things.
