شكرا جزاك الله خيرا, أنا أتعلم العربية وإنما أفهم الفصحى ولكنني الآن أتعلم اللهجة العراقية لأنني مهتم وعاشق جدا للحضارة العراقية القديمة والحديثة العظيمة الرائعة
Michigander here learning Arabic, and by far - love to all Arabic dialects - Iraqi is my favorite dialect because of the beautifully deep and guttural pronunciations, الحب والاحترام 🫡
Love this style of video! It's really easy to follow along and stay engaged, and teaches useful words for real-life scenarios. Would love to see one where you talk about your plans for the day - so everyday things like waking up, going to work, driving the car, shopping, coming home, going to sleep.
Great video guys. Makes me feel at home. You might want to introduce closed captions to your videos so that those who don’t have an Arab background can read along in English with the subtitles, or can read romanticized Arabic.
I have searched hard for either Assyrian or Iraqi Arabic lessons so that I can learn how to speak to my husbands mother. I feel so blessed that you have restarted your page! Idea: Record the words in an AnkiApp flashcard study tool as you post your TH-cam videos so that students can reference it afterwards to study.
I’m glad you found the channel and it’s helping. We haven’t heard of AnkiApp. But we will researched and see how we can incorporate it in our future videos
This is so great!! Love this format. I really need to be immersed so this small conversation at the beginning is really great and the explanation following it as well. Then i reaaaally appreciated that you write the words in arabic as you mention them so i can practice my reading along! And i loooooved the little quizz to check if i remembered them. Short video, but very efficient for learning practical daily stuff (Which i really need). I can feel this is going to help me make muuuuch progress, and I've been trying for months to find a way/discipline/structure, so THANK YOU guys for helping me in my journey with the Iraqi dialect, as there's not a lot available online. Love you guys ❤
Also I have a question, you said with the eggs the pronounciation could differ (q or k), but why ? I guess it's depending on the region of origin? Where would you use k or q
We are glad you loved the video and it is helping. We will keep it up with this format. The word that differed pronounciation is boiled (maslok گ) in baghdadi and (masloq ق) in maslawi. We are speaking baghdadi in the video though
شكرا لك عشت في الموصل، العراق لبضع سنوات عندما كنت طفلا وكنت أعرف القليل من اللغة العربية. كنت على وفاق مع الأطفال من الحي. لقد فاتني حقا دروس مثل دروسك. حاولت أن أتعلم اللغة العربية، لكن اللغة التي يدرسونها في كل مكان مختلفة، ربما سأتمكن من زيارة العراق يوما ما. (أنا أستخدم مترجم أوتوماتيكي)
I like this format very much! You both did a wonderful job! I understood pretty much all of it since I grew up listening to my parents speak the language. However, I can’t speak it nearly as well. One suggestion I have is to make the Arabic script font a little bigger, at least as big as the English words. Thank you both!
بالعفية for your breakfast:) I love this new concept, seeing the two of you, you are too cute together! Could it be that she has a bit of a different accent, she pronounces the "ر" almost a bit like in American English 😁 can you maybe do a video on different dialects in Iraq? From what I heard is that people from Mosul have a very different pronunciation
بالعفية I think you meant بالعافية. Correct? 😊 Yes we can make a video about different dialects. I think she pronounces the r very similar to me. It could be the audio or maybe because she was raised speaking Chaldean. However we always role the ر in all Iraqi dialects I believe.
The conversation was great, along with the vocabulary in Arabic, English, and transliteration. Maybe in future videos you could include question/answer sequences in the vocabulary items to help people learn to converse, for example: "What do you want to eat"? "I want boiled eggs." "What do you want to drink?" "I want cold/iced coffee." Just curious, is you accent Baghdadi or from a different part of the country? I'm sure you have noticed that East Coasters, Midwesterners, and Southerners in the USA all have their own accents. FANTASTIC JOB!
Thank you for the suggestion. It really helps structure our future videos. Our accent is Baghdadi. Rami is Maslawi and can speak Maslawi dialect also 😅.
Congratulations! Also I am so happy you're both here to teach us the Iraqi dialect! Have you looked into "comprehensible input" for teaching? I think this is the best/easiest way to learn a language. "Dreaming Spanish" is one such TH-cam channel that uses comprehensible input for Spanish. :)
If you could put the English translation that would be helpful. The video was great I’ve been learning for a while so I can understand the conversations!
Thanks for the new video! I noticed that Noura pronounces the "r" sligthly different compared to most iraqis I know, her "r" is less "vibrating", it's a little bit like the american one. For example at 4:17. Very interesting...
@theiraqicouple It's definitely a difference in pronunciation, I noticed that soft "r" sound with some lebanese people as well! And the turkish also pronounce it like that... I always thought Rami was Baghdadi, I remember him saying in one of his older vids that he grew up in Baghdad, but maybe I'm mistaken... Keep it up, guys!
May God bless you both, beautiful couple and thank you for these amazing lessons to help us learn the wonderful Iraqi dialect! 😊
Thank you we appreciate it 😊
Rami I can see how much you love her! She’s the light of your eyes! Thank you for the video!
Yes 100% ❤😊. I’m glad you liked the video
@ Best wishes to both of you. May them be 100 years of happiness! Greetings from Italy 🙏

Thank you. That’s a great idea. We will make sure we do that in our next video 😊
It’s great! I’d like to hear you both having a longer conversation but that’s just me.
We will do longer videos in the future 😊

So glad youre back! And الف مبروك! It would be good to see the vocab in a list in the description if possible ❤❤
We will add it in future videos for sure 😊
This would be really helpful!

We are glad you liked the video. We agree with you. The Arabic subtitles came out a bit small
Love that your mum came by with كاهي وگيمر ❤😂🎉

Ayy welcome to Iraq 🙌
Bravo, your mom is so sweet bringing you and your wife food. Congrats, habibi.
My nephew is half iraqi❤❤💝
❤❤
I suggest you keep the video entirely in Arabic and caption with English. Even if it’s only 5 minutes, that would be great. Thank you so much!
Thank you for the suggestion. That is our goal slowly when uploading videos. More Arabic than English

Rami do you know any Sureth? Would love to hear you speak it. Your Arabic lessons helped me a lot as an Assyrian.
I know a little. I’ll make a video with a Noora and she will teach me
@@theiraqicouple Iraqis are gonna love that one. Congratulations on your marriage.
