The #7 and #27 were actually in retail releases (2017 Release 2), each limited to 1256, as were many of the 2017 store releases. The unmarked, unlicensed Gulf one and the black one are 2017 Hobby Exclusives through Auto World, not through MiJo, also limited to around 1200. All 4 are some of my most prized models in my collection!
The gulf company colors are actually the navy and orange, the famous light blue and orange were campaigned successfully by J.W. Automotive Engineereing (JWAE) at Slough in England, on Ford GTs, Mirage M1, Porche 917 and have become the favorite of multiple fan bases.
@@armandobueno6888 No I have a feeling it's that they are selling the Chases at a high price and they are not found randomly. Which is ok. But they should NOT call them CHASES but rare VARIANTS.....because it brings about too many bad feelings...
The gold #5, the black #2 and the blue #1 actually finished 1,2,3 in the 24 Hour of Le Mans when they raced there in 1966. That's why it's a "collect them all"
I purchased the initial release of this when it first came out. Sadly most of these liveries was not with this specific body style. the Front was used only for 1965. This was used at Daytona, Sebring, and Le Mans, after which the front end we all know and love was developed. I am a GT40 purist, so seeing the liveries not found on this particular front-end GT40 irks me. You'd see this front end on: 1965 Daytona: #72 (winner) #73 (3rd place) Sebring: #10 (DNF) #11 (2nd place) Monza 1000km: #68 (DNF) #69 (3rd place) Nurburgring 1000km: #11 (8th place) #12 (DNF) Le Mans: #6 (DNF) #7 (DNF) I'm sure it may have been seen at a couple other races, but these are the best known GT40's with this front end.
The light blue Gulf #40 is Steve McQueen's car IIRC, the dark blue Gulf #12 is based on a similar one with the #11 instead (can't remember the drivers right now)
There are the chase "Ultra-Red" ones and the super-chase "Ultra-Raw" ones, BTW (what Hot Wheels collectors may call "Zamac" versions, i.e., raw or unpainted metal)
So I’m going to call BS on needing to sell the chases at $150 to help pay for the ability to make collab cars. The math does not lie. You could sell 2496 cars at $15 each and make more money than selling the regulars at $12 and the chases at $150. So sell all pf them for $15-16 each and randomly pack chases so there is an equitable chance, instead of making an artificially inflated value for the chases.
@@brownpower9229 that's not even close to true!!! The wheels are actually the way all diecast would look if they were True 1/64. Not gonna lie I probably won’t be supporting you on this purchase because of the following. 1- Last time I purchased the truck the quality control was TERRIBLE, The rear wheels are stuck to the truck bed and do not roll AT ALL 2- The quality control on the moving parts is 2/10. Tail gate doesn’t shut and stays/falls down no matter what, and hood is near impossible to open. 3- Jcar takes all the fun away from the “chase” pieces by pulling them out and selling them for over $100. If a shop is going to be the only place you can buy an item it’s SUPER shady of them to take the chases for themselves knowing they’re the only place to get them.

that ghost Lamley logo is ingenius!!
Black #2 Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon, I believe....A truly dope collection!!! Cheers, PJw
When will they make a mk2 or mkiv????? They been using that early mk1 FO-EV-VER
Supporting the scalpers like usual lol

You simply just hate when people making some money
Need to release the MK2. Still love the MK1 and the liveries.
Thanks John!
I love the red chases! You got to do flat black one with gloss numbers and striping!
Those good year tires w the blue stripe are the Blue Streak tires which also were used on the Drag cars of the 60s too
Love the ghost logo
Nice touch with those roundels!
Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon drove the black #2 to a first place win at Le Mans.
I got the GT40!!!
Woo HOO!
Was able to pickup a lamley gt40 chase today .. pretty excited about that
Love Ford gt40 autoworld 😍

AAAAAAAH! Ford Gts may be my favorite ever.
The 66 & 67 Gt40's ran Goodyears, the 68 & 69 cars ran Firestones.
Does the limited run of “2496” have any significance?
Shame I won’t see these in Australia.
They are packaged in 48 count cases so it’s the math
@@lamleygroup thank you for that.
A Lamslead.?.? Maybe??? I was hoping for a C8 for #3.?.?.? Can't wait, either way!!!!!!!
Awesome GT 40s

Excelentes piezas ;0)
I'm missing the first two (red and blue #72) and a few more, unfortunately I can't afford to buy them all...
Where’s the lamley edition raw?
What is Lamley?

I hope that i can buy Lamley Silverado here in Europe. But its almost impossible to get this one. I love to get it in my collection :-(
too bad they used a MK1 model for the 66 le mans cars...
🔥🔥🍺😎

Unless you want them to work, Auto world I nice for display but their moving parts/wheels are not even in the Top 5

I don't understand why they don't make a MkII, especially since they lean so hard on MkII liveries. Half-assed.
Nobody is finding any of these in stores. Re-sellers have nearly ruined this hobby. Thanks for the video, John! Love your Lamley Signature Series!
Buy online and stop looking around at stores....
Those auto world cars look cool, but my heart belong to Hot Wheels.
And AW is no good on orange track! They do look nice, though.
But you get so much more from Autoworld for the same price or less...
