This spiritual song type is called Qawali in Eastern side.
It consists upon a punchline, the main verse and it's topic. A Qawali can stretch to a whole night as everything relevant to the topic, any verse or poem or any type of poetic content that relates to the main topic was included to it regardless of it's rhythm shuffle. Main essence is the topic of it's punchline.
Changes in rhythm are measured accurate as their topic of discussion rolling back to main topic of every part of it.
Whenever rhythm breaks and twists, every segment ended with the topic relevant to main, giving it the space to mark it's existence and value to build new segment ending the same way eventually.

It is a talk to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who he is calling Tajdar e Haram (king of the holy sanctuary). Its an expression of pure love and when you love someone so much these vocals become very easy to come out. It shows his love and his dependence on the prophet authority. He is requesting prophet’s merciful gaze towards himself. The ups and down in notes of this kalam represents the blood rush that normally happens when you love someone your feelings go up and down for them. The ups and downs in notes show the eagerness of acceptance from the prophet. I hope this helps people understand the concept of this Kalam.

He is not even classically trained just naturally blessed and ofcourse hard work thus one of the best vocalist in the world definitely in South Asia. Coke Studios is one of the best live music platforms with great production quality, musicians, vocalists and deep lyrics, its amazing how they manage to produce such long length perfect songs.

He goes way lower lol. Atif has really beautiful low notes. Also it was one song or rather it is called a qawwali not a song. Qawwali has multiple changing structures. The usual pop song is 5 minutes or less but qawwalis can be an hour long too. Atif Aslam the singer, is the biggest superstar of Pakistan and has one of the largest audiences across South Asia. Definitely worth checking out. He is extremely versatile and has sung in many many genres.
