    Great to have you back and wishing you a full and speedy recovery. I love your channel. My brother used to work for Bristol Myers Squibb as a machinist making knees and hips out of titanium. Then he moved on and became a CNC machinist instructor traveling all over the US. These days he is semi-retired and has a shop near Weeki Wachee, Florida. He is also a gun collector and an amateur gunsmith of sorts. Thanks for another excellent video.

    Glad the surgery went well for you, I've had both knees replaced as well! "CB caps" used to be "crumble ball", a round made for the old carnival shooing galleries of old, on the midway of carnivals and county fairs. They were supposed to break into dust on the steel plate backstops.

    My coworker had a hip replacement last year. Hour after he woke up from anesthesia the surgeon came into his room pulled his blanket off and said get up and walk. The sooner you start the better off you'll be. Crazy but thats how they do it these day. Being active is key.👍

    Thought about getting one of these 9 or 10 years ago. Heard about some timing issues Ruger had with these. Ruger took a friends back and corrected it. I loved the feel of this revolver. Little bit lighter than my Smith Model 17, A little larger than my Smith Model 34. Great revolver though and may consider getting one someday. Thanks for the video.

    • @GunBlue490
      @GunBlue490  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Those stories were urban legends. I'm a factory trained Ruger armorer. I can tell you that there's no such thing as a Ruger timing issue, unless it's tampered with. The action is quite simple. The pawl rotates the cylinder when the hammer is cocked in either single action or double action, and it stops when latched. They are test fired at the factory with high pressure proof loads in double action, which also proofs the timing under fire. It either works for the tester or it gets sent back to the line. That's his job. No gun is stamped by him with a proof mark unless it's working perfectly.

    The Ruger SP101 in .22 lr is a fine little revolver. I used to own one. It shot well but I dealt with a few things that I personally didn't like as much as other revolvers. The grip was a tad short for me. I have never liked the J frame size grips for that reason. The trigger pull was on the heavy side and the front sight was not as bright as other revolvers with fiber optic sights. I found that I have a preference for the K frame Smith and Wesson revolvers in .22 lr. Especially the model 17. Great video.

    Wishing you the best from the left coast. I had my third robotic knee replacement surgery last month . My left knee worked well with moderate clunking - no pain after about 6 months. The right knee was done over a year later and it had much more clunking and the pain never went away. Eighteen months later they (a major university hospital) re-did the right knee and now I think it's gonna be a winner. I don't know which pieces they replaced but it works great, and after 6 weeks the pain is about 75% gone, with excellent range of motion and walking 4 to 5 thousand steps a day. When you have PT I advise that you take pain meds, if not then it will hurt when they stretch you and you will shy away from the needed stretching.
    I bought a Ruger LCR .22 and put the small laser on it. I like the idea of having a small defense weapon that can aim well in low light, better than my 70 year old eyes.

    Great news on the operation. I have a friend who had both knees replaced at the same time. He had done all the exercises before the operation and then after it. Less than a year later he took part in the Coo-ee March (the first recruitment march at the beginning of WW1) re-enactment and marched from Gilgandra in the Central West of New South Wale, to Sydney New South Wales, Australia; about 350 to 400 miles. Take care and follow the advise of your doctors. Great to see you back. Blessings from Australia.

Now I’m scheduled to have the left one done in a few weeks. Arthritis is a bitch. I still can’t get down my steep basement stairs to get to my loading bench! I hope I’ll be able to at least go dove hunting this fall. I can do that sitting down. I’m lucky enough to have plenty of stock piled ammunition and young people that come out to my farm to hunt. Never thought of setting up a small range in the basement, even though I have a bullet trap that will handle .22lr. Only used it for air rifle. Glad to hear your knee surgery is working out. Have a relative that had a knee replacement about a month or maybe 6 weeks ago, and it is not going well with the recovery. Went all winter with no snow in our area, and they are predicting 12-15 inches tomorrow, so the itch that I have to get out shooting, is going to get pushed out another week or more. Have to get the Single Six out and see if I can match your target results.
