That's because after the show was ready and they did the trailer, a bunch of new rules dropped. So they had to edit the crap out of it. Such as originally he actually turn INTO a wolf. And originally they made 70 episodes, but were forced to shave it down to 50. They did a decent job but you can definitely tell they made major changes to the original movie.

@@Tanya_katoch I've watched it and my opinion still stands. I'm aware this series is old so much of the characterisation and tropes fit the trends of TV scripts around that time. These characters lacked the character fluidity to really bring the plot to life.
@@ladyfightsoctopus8166 partially agree with you. But not the maker's fault. It was originally a 58 episode series. But with the New China policy, only 49 episodes allowed. So they had to do major cuts. That's why it looks jarring sometimes. Many of the main scenes were edited. Only plot twisting scenes were allowed. Had it been complete 58 episodes series. I do believe it would have been much better than now ❤️
@@ladyfightsoctopus8166 The series isn’t old it was released late it is different from the usual shows but the only really annoying person was the lead female..she was such a pain..loved Yao Yao’s portrayal
I will never forgive this show for ripping out my heart and shredding it to pieces. I can even get passed the annoying obviousness of "Just f*cking tell her what's going on!!!" every other episode. There was no logic to the end when it could have been resolved. But no.... stabbing the hearts of those of us who became emotionally invested in a redemption arc that only came with death was much better for the writer. I will never look at yellow butterflies the same again. They are the harbingers of death and despair lol.

If it's pure fiction, the writer needs to put forth effort to TELL the story, not just write parts she wants and fill in blanks to force situations that make no sense just to make her wishes come true. And still, for her to say she wanted the lead female to "sacrifice for him for once" makes me question any of her skills. I mean, she literally wrote scene after scene of the girl suffering for him and losing her entire family.

I struggle with c-drama script writing most times. Perhaps it is the culture of the people, unnecessary death is valuable.
