Love this! Ive been the same for many years! I dont like buying / recieving gifts just for the sake of it. Ive asked family (in laws) to donate to an animal charity instead and they say no they want to buy me things then most of the time i dont actually like what they've given me and i give it to charity. Just feel like its such a waste! This year my family have done a secret santa where we are buying something that we know the person would like from a charity shop. The matching family pjs thing im on the fence about but I wear xmas pjs throughout the year. Although i reckon alot of people will do exactly what you say and only wear them on Christmas eve. Ive had the same tree and decorations for years but i will buy one if im in a different country and its a special memory. I dont get why people spend all that money on buying new trees and decorations every year. Hopefully more people have the same sentiments as us going forward ❤
Love this. I feel like capitalism has gone up a notch or ten again this year. I'm constantly bombarded with emails texts trying to make me buy stuff. Yet all I really want is affordable housing and heating...and a neverending supply of vegan restaurants. Christmas is tough as family expect it to be about gifts and it just ends up an expensive stress. The more I own the more weighed down I feel too. Even if I had loads of money, I just don't think I'd want endless stuff for the sake of it.
I agree with this, I have a little boy and the pressure to spend an enormous amount on him is crazy. I am in a privileged position that I could afford to spend more than I actually am, but that's not the kind of upbringing I want my kid to have!

I think this is my favourite video you've ever done. I only ever ask for consumable gifts and books now really and that's only because some people in my family like to buy gifts and I don't want to deny them that joy. It is harder now I am a parent - I do kind of dictate to people what to get for my son because I don't want the house full of plastic toys that won't last. And I'm always explicit that we would love second hand gifts, my son certainly doesn't know the difference! I have already given him his gift of a wooden play kitchen which I bought off marketplace and he absolutely loves it. He'll have some books and wooden cars to open on Christmas Day, some of which are also pre-loved. P.S. That sky calendar is a literal nightmare! It's so big! Why do you want your house to look like a corporate boardroom?!
Also on Christmas decorations, my mum's tree is full of hideous homemade decorations made by my siblings and I when we were kids. It looks a mess and brings us all so much joy every year looking back through them 😂😂

Relate about all the subscription trends. It makes me so mad. I subscribe to just Netflix and Spotify and that is enough for me. With having to pay for bills and gym on top it’s enough money. I’m not going to subscribe to like 5-10 other things every month too.
I have a no present pact with my siblings. For those family members that won’t agree to no presents I try to be as thoughtful as possible and often go for restaurant vouchers- and for myself I ask for things that are consumable. I don’t want more tat in my house 😂
Agree a lot with this video! I'd never heard of Hatch alarm clock - the Lumie alarm clock is the same, and you can get one for £70. I WILL say it is amazing if you're wanting to regulate your sleeping pattern and moving away from using your phone, but the Hatch being £££ is too much for sure. I will say I love my Suri toothbrush.. the battery life is sooo good and that is what stopped me using my old electric toothbrush as it would run out of battery after a week!! It's expensive for sure though.
I found some real Uggs and some fake vegan Uggs in a charity shop 2 years ago. The fake ones are warm but I only wear them indoors 😂 Didn't buy the real ones!
My lunch is going to be vegan of course, but my family is going to eat not vegan. Although every year I'm in charge of making the dessert and I've been making vegan chocolate salami because everyone loves it ❤

honestly i’m still happy with mine! it’s great for travelling, the battery life is amazing and it’s so lightweight. i just feel like it’s been over advertised and we shouldn’t be rushing to buy it if we already have a working brush!
