What do you estimate for lenght per bedroom? I always estimate 100'/bedroom. Is that was EZ flow rates at? Also need a quick rule of thumb when doing lot layout and approximate size of home for the tighter lots. Also, I am suprised at the depth of those leech fields. Mine were dug probably 5-7' in depth.
The required length (and depth) always depends on the loading rate, which is based on the soil's texture, structure, and consistence. A good rule of thumb for an alternate drain field system like EZ Flow using a conservative 0.3 LTAR (long term acceptance rate) is 100' per bedroom plus 50' per bedroom for repair area. Always check with the local health department or a soil classifier before assuming the space needed for the leach field. Typical drain lines in this part of South Carolina must be spaced 10' apart. Hope this helps!

Why set the tank sideways like that ? What does this system cost ?
The orientation of the septic tank depends on the design of the system and routing of the drain lines. This system cost about $9,000.
