this is not it, lol, only the cable reel costs 70% of a whole new vacuum machine, every product that needs you to find a local official repair center is not meant to be repaired, it is meant to break and generate more revenue
Never thought I'd see a vacuum cleaner in a dishwasher! Very cool insight into the workings of the Miele. Mine is currently in the shop because it won't turn on and I'm hoping it can be repaired. It's a Compact C2 Electro+ that I only use on bare floors since I no longer have wall to wall carpeting.
Thank you! Made my day twice! Saved me money today. 🙏🏼💚 A feather had made its way into the fan. My girlfriend blushed as I played your “why people do this I’ll never know” line regarding pushing down the bag intake piece. 😄
Another thank you for such a helpful video. I had to blow the dust out of our C3 just like you did. All buttoned up now and ready to go back to work. :)
Love my C3 Marin. Had to get the wand replaced so i thought because the power to the SEB 236 would cut out when i would pull back when vacuuming. Turns out it was the whole hose. Everything replaced under warranty. All in all great vacuum. Wish the outer shell wouldn’t get scratched up so easily. 😕
Idk if you go through old comments but would you say this disassembly is worth the effort if the heat output of the motor has slightly but not critically increased?
This video changed my life. I was unemployed, unhealthy, and alone. Then I watched this video and my life was transformed forever. Now I'm the CEO of a successful company, I have a six pack, I'm happily married, and have two healthy sons. Thank you Performance Reviews for the amazing video!!!
I think most people know this but if you if you use a Hepa bag in a vacuum you will save money on filters because the bags won't let any dust through, and your filters will stay cleaner much longer as if you use a paper bag youll be changing those filters way more often and covering your bag chamber with dust.
I'm based in Ireland and have a complete C3 extreme powerline with a 1400W motor. I'm anxious to keep it running as long as possible as I've tried a newer C3 with the EU mandated 900W motor and it literally sucks😂 Anyway it stopped working recently and I assumed it was the Triac so bought a 5 pack for a few euro. It actually turned out to be a broken plug/tab on the brass housing of the motor brush. I couldn't find brushes with housings anywhere and I wasn't confident that I could solder brass to brass successfully. In the end I figured the plug doesn't play any part in holding the brush in place so I just soldered some wire between the housing and the broken off plug uand it's worked perfectly since. The brushes still have some life left in them but I have ordered some unhoused ones as spares. Do you know how easy/hard it is to install them in the housings? My soldering skills are pretty good and I know it's possible but can't find any guides. Thanks for the excellent video btw.
Thanks, mine seems to be overheating and then stalls. What could be? The motor is clean. The coils are good shiny copper, rotor and stator are working. Everything is working fine until it get warmer. Then the rpm goes down and eventually it shuts itself off while it is not really hot. What could it be?
My son broke the lid off my Miele canister. The hinges toward the back…. So I ordered a new lid but I can’t figure out how to take the black part (for the hose, etc) that attaches to the colored lid off. Thoughts?
After letting a teenager use my Miéle C3 Marin powerline I noticed it now has loud bearing or motor. I noticed said teen had allowed the machine to suck up large debris, which went unnoticed, clogging the hose. Consequently, debris built up before going into the bag, sucking it up all around & into the vacuum motor. My question is: Do they sell motors or bearings for these? Im having quite the time locating parts! If anyone has the answer(s) or knows which site's best, PLEASE let me know?! Thank you for your informative video, sir! ( Performance Reviews )
Hey guy 😊. I have one of these that now has a short where the hose connects to the canister. I did watch your video on when you did a repair on one of yours. This isn’t something I wish to do so if you want it I can send it your way and pay you for the job. You can also do the video as well. Thoughts?
Love your videos! I was in the market for a shark after watching one of the popular vacuum channels, but I have found your videos and you definitely convinced me to go with Miele. I would love a video on what to look for when buying a Miele on the secondhand market! I can get a used C3 for about $300-$400 in my area, which is what I would have paid for a Shark Vertex but hopefully this last a lot longer. I even see some of the older ones from the 90s still going for about $100 so it must be a quality product. From watching your videos I see to look for things like dust in the bag compartment. And it would probably be a good idea to check the suction on the spot, but I’m sure as a tech there are things you would look for that would be different from the average consumer. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
@@hmeah6991 I opened mine up and motor looks worn down. Think it's called the actuator, where the brushes are pushing against. Might just order another motor.
@@hmeah6991 mine is 6 years old and been used twice daily everyday!! Might be wear and tear or the dodgy filters my partner bought, or could just be the bushes were worn out and destroyed the motor.
I dont see $1,000 worth of vacuum. The most expensive component is the motor obviously, but doubt the motor costs over $100.00. Otherwise plastic like every other brand. I dont get the hype, its not a commercial unit, but definitely comands the price of commercial equipment. Could buy almost 2 Proforce commercial vacuums for the price of a C3. Looks like a waste of money to me, only way I would by one of these is on sale, a good sale.
@PerformanceReviews I understand it, made in Germany. But it doesn't mean it's worth the price point. It's just an overpriced consumerism product. Just because it's made in Germany doesn't mean it's good. BMW is German made and junk. Old BMW was good. Now it's just over engineered crap designed for constant issues and service.
I would want something made in America cause I live in America. Why I mentioned Proforce, as far as I'm aware they are made in America. Why would I want to pay almost double the price for a German made product? I highly doubt it's twice the quality of Proforce, who makes commercial quality products for the service industry.
I always appreciate this kind of thinking. Trying to see as whole a picture as possible. Then deciding what action to take. Then respecting that other people - guided by their incomplete picture - may decide what action to take. The brand is not just more expensive because it’s German. I’m Danish, and here that wouldn’t be a thing, because many brands are. Miele is still expensive here. It’s a brand that connotes with quality, reliability and good service. It’s also a status symbol for some. So, given we’re all monkeys, some may want those qualities over, say, raw efficiency. After all, you have to buy and dispose of two machines, store one while you use the other - people in an apartment may not have the space to always buy two or three cheap models, and store the unused for years. So… many factors. 😊🙏🏼
Thanks for a good video that helped me to repair our Miele. 👍
It is so satisfying to watch repairs of machines that are meant to be repaired and not meant to become obsolete after few years.

Bought one of these for $25 on marketplace. Woman said “it smelled bad when she used it” she didn’t know she has to replace filters 🤣🤣
Great deal.

Managed to thoroughly clean all the fine dust of all the plastics finally thanks to your video. Thanks a ton!
Excellent Video. Many thanks. Really helpful and saves me levering the wrong bits to get it apart!
Thanks. Loving my C3. Surprised how "simple" the teardown is and how few parts there actually are.
Yes Miele has a dedication to making their stuff easy to service.
Absolutely love both of my C1=S6 machines.

Fantastic! I'm going to run right over to Stark's Vacuum to get her serviced!
Starks is well known for being a good dealer.
Thanks for helping. My Miele C3 works again🎉

Great Video! When placing back the top cover ( last step), can I apply a little silicome to the hinges or leave it as it is?
How would you wash a miele motor? Whats the process to do it safely?

Do you recommend any of the Miele Complete C3 models over a Patriot?
Of course. The Patriot is so outdated it can't compete with modern canisters.

A really helpful video. It would have been perfect if you hadn't cut to an old video, as the camera angle was too low to see properly.

If there's a burning smell coming from the motor does that mean the motor is dead beyond repair?
