It makes me chuckle when people say, "The end of the world is coming". The planet will be fine in the long run, it's us that are screwed. Sadly, its no more than we deserve. The earth is an amazing living organism and we are an infection.
"Its us that are screwed" also make me chuckle. We will be just fine. Yeah the population may drop by a few billion. Our standards of living may change to worse for a lot of us. However there is no climate shift that could happen fast enough to even come close to wiping us out. It why the saying used to be "The end of the world as we know it" Not sure why that changes to just. "The end of the world"
Population growth is currently mainly driven by live expectancy growth, which for now, is still rising fairly sharply. It won't rise infinitely though, and global birth rates are already plummeting. The needed fertility rate to just maintain a population is around 2.1 and the global average is currently at 2.3, a lot less than it was many years ago. It will probably drop below the replacement rate in the years to come. Unless we just roll over and give up completely, we will need young people to deal with the challenges that will be caused by climate change.
How much is the WEF paying you?

Nope, it's people like you who are the infection. Talk for yourself, you're not talking for me.
