Nothing wrong with paddle boards. Just need to practice anchoring once hooking up. I use both stake out pole and regular anchor on my paddle board and works great. But still have them connected with a carabiner for quick release if I get a big one
There's nothing at all wrong with paddle board fishing... it's one of my favorite things to fish from. I was only out for a few hours that day on a quick trip so didn't back much gear... wish I had my regular anchor that day.
Oh ok, just heard you say "bad thing about paddle boards". Just misinterpreted it. I've been there... only brought a stake out pole instead of an anchor and made for some frustrating times like in the video. But still love my paddle board, installing an anchor trolley made a huge difference in the ease of anchoring
I have multiple SUPs now and used them more often than my boat since they are great for sight fishing and can be easily taken anywhere. Here's a link to a video of my favorite type of paddle board fishing... going way back up into the small creeks and hidden lakes: th-cam.com/video/B8ZiY9RQGkI/w-d-xo.html
Tom Sawyer I agree. I don't paddle board but do kayak fish and position myself with a stick pin or anchor with a carabiner so as to be able to horse them out of cover, or release the carabiner to follow them if they make a run for it. Dragging a kayak helps wear them out and if with a friend we will hold on to each other for twice the drag.
It is a board made by Live Watersports in Clearwater, FL. This one is called the L2Fish. It's very stable and quiet so makes for a great fishing platform.
I normally take just one or two when fishing from the paddleboard. And I only use artificials because they allow me to cover more water and have less gear on the board.
I launched from 4th St. in St. Pete (close to I-275). To see the exact spots we fish, check out our Insider Fishing Club because we show the details of our trips (including close-up shots on Google maps) so that our members can see the types of spots that are holding the most fish throughout the year along with the types of baits to get strikes.

What all told you the "Plan A" area was bad as soon as you got there?
Hi Luke! Could you please tell us what paddleboard you were using in this video? Thank you!

Salt Strong Thank you very much. I will have to check it out!!
How many rods you go out with? Arties, live, or both? I've been teaching myself to use artificial this summer

Where is the spot? I'm trying to plan a trim snook fishing
