It was Donna herself using auto tune while doing the improvisation in the studio. We all know she didn't need it but she always wanted to explore new grounds.
I think after Cher had a huge hit with believe with the auto-tune in it. Some of the producers that followed did manipulate Donna's vocal slightly, but I don't see anything unusual or disrespectful and I'm very loyal to Donna's original vocals. Q always does a great job and is always respectful
