Really entertaining ,really enjoyed watching ,nice and laid back but plenty packed in .....You definitely made the right decision to keep on moving again !
Like your somewhat funky 90s/80s thing going on with the intro. Take care in the weather ❤. Gotta say, that green algae on the water surface needs some vinegar on it to drop the growth back a bit. Too bad noise tujnkingbif developing the Wiggans writing paper factory into housing.
Bring me sunshine In your smile Bring me laughter All the while In this world where we live There should be more happiness So much joy you can give To each brand new bright tomorrow. Thank you Fran & Rich 🌺🌼
I feel your frustration. The issue is that the tow path will have been in works for years. Marple locks will be in the works as well, but constant use and some poor boat handling takes its toll.
My wife and I play canasta too, with four decks. She likes to win, which she does most times but hates to loose. I won the last two games buy only a couple hundred points. Nice to see you out and about again.
You should of walked up to Heysham Village an absolute Gem of a place.I often go up to Heysham and walk down into Morecambe come rain or sunshine love these two places.Dogs love it on the beaches there so popular with them Hopefully the Eden Project will boost the Town.Lovely to walk down to Happy Mount Park. The views across the Bay are fabulous. Looks like a lovely Canal to cruise along.
I know people who have put in grass carp to eat duck weed and other floating waterplants. They are sterile but do grow to 4' or so. I wonder?????? But they cost $15 each 25 years ago. Happy boating, even though your hatch needs a clean out every time you turn around....see you and the puppers next vlog.
@FloatingOurBoat any place that I know the grass carp were stocked it was illegal to fish for them . As they do not have offspring and are there to control the plant population and make it a better place to raise bass or lake trout.
Loved seeing the dogs joy at the beach. What a great bus cafe idea and how it was laid out. Recycling at it’s best. Hope you’ve been somewhere safe from storm Babet’s nastiness.
Interesting vlog nice to see Morecambe not been for some time, Was the Top lock pub closed at Johnsons Hillock, Many years ago i supplied some consumables to where you had a coffee on the bus it was called L&L cruisers then they had a narrowboat hire boat there that was that low in the water it was nicknamed the Submarine.😊
The McNulty brothers were Morecambe´s Kray twins, in the Seventies they controlled everything that made money on Morecambe Prom. There was for a short while, an old galleon moored up that was not their´s. Unfortunately it burned down ... I ran the bars at the Duke´s Playhouse, Lancaster, and we had to close the theatre for a few weeks at the height of the season. We didn't want a fire. I think the McNulty´s ran the council too.
Hi Fran & Rich, wonderful video...nice and relaxing! Love your poses with Eric Morecambe's statue. Good to see Archie & Jess enjoying the outing as well. (just wanted to mention and let you know that I had to create a new account...my old one is kdean.) What a lovely little Bus cafe! Thank you for sharing, have a wonderful week! Take really good care. Lots of love Kathy x 🍁🍂💖
Thank you for letting us know about your account Kathy. We do get to know people by their account names. Hope you didn't have any trouble with your old account.
It’s so great to hear your voices, to watch your videos, to love on your dogs, and to go places with y’all. I mean it! It is flat out great and always makes me feel wonderful. Thank you from over here and Portland, Oregon.
That glassfibre cruiser at 15:39 looks like it is wearing spectacles! Are those Jalapenos at 19:41? I grow hot peppers as a hobby and this is the sad time of year when the plants need to be cut down. Many peppers are perennials in climates that don't include inconvenient things...like winter...! I got three years out of a couple of plants once but they really didn't much like being indoors. I finally had all of the Guinness Book "world's hottest" record holders for the last 50 years (or so) growing in my back yard this year and it was a ridiculously bountiful harvest (Jalapenos are ice cubes compared to these monsters!). No sooner than the growing season grinds to a halt, a NEW "world's hottest has been declared"! That's for next year! The most invasive species on this planet is, ironically,... US. Garlic mustard is currently invading the area where I live BUT few people know that it is a cousin of arugula (rocket) and just as edible. might make a pesto with it next spring.
I love boats with apparent faces on the front. Well spotted with the chillies. One is a Jalapeno, the others were just picked up at a garden sale so I'm not sure what they are. That sounds like an amazing amount of chillies and is obviously a very addictive hobby. I intend to bring the smaller ones in for the winter but I don't hold out much hope for them. My son is a teacher and last week had to supervise a detention for a child who had brought to school a ghost chilli, dipped it in chilli sauce and gave it to another boy to eat whole. Apparently there was quite a bit if screaming and wailing but he was ok in the end!
Thanks for the lovely video again. We enjoyed the bus café too. Have you tried Fredrick's ice cream parlour yet (they have a range of vegan ice creams)? It was good to see you and say hi the other day. Will and Vicky
The overcast day at Morecambe reminded me of my dear old dad and going down beach with him, and him loving going fishing on cloudy and overcast days because he always was of the thought that the fish bit better on those kinds of days.
Hi Fran and Rich. I bet it was nice to have a day out to the seaside. The dogs looked to love the beach. That cafe on the bus looked great. It certainly has turned wet recently. I hope you have found somewhere good to hunker down. Take care. Nick
Truly absence makes the heart grow fonder, or at least appreciative of when we get to watch a vlog from you. I just love the way you approach life. Be well. Leigh, Houston, Tx
The smile on your faces says it all. You definately are more suited to be on the move. The CRT needs to spend money clearing all that duck weed Intead of resurfacing the toe paths. 😊
I'm glad that Storm Agnes didn't impact you where you were cruising. Chorley looks like a nice town to visit and browse local shops while your dogs were able to enjoy their walkies on the beach. Take care! 🦋🦊🦔🐦
Brilliant cruise. Even in the rain. I remember Morecambe Bay in its hey day. Great place to go. Loved all the colours, music, views etc. thank you so much. Great to share part of your journeys again.
Winnie Wallace..... Well done Rich. loads of information about the area.Fran, your looking good, don't matter that you can't say 'Chorley".. Your beach trip at Morecambe was lovely to watch. Take care the both of you while this storm is hovering around.
Not sure but i think they preparing the surface so it needs less maintenance in future when funding ends and they can focus on the things that will need more maintenance.
What a coincidence! I worked for Wiggins Teape Stationery Ltd. in their Chadwell Heath, Essex factory in the 70s! I used to process all the stationery invoices/orders for Woolworth's stores. Great place to work. We're actually having a rain-free day today. Good luck with your journey! Take care, and love to the doggies too. 😀
So great to see you two! Fred says, “Howdy!” We will be emailing you on some advice to hire a narrowboat next year. Can’t wait for Billy to retire❤️❤️❤️🦔🤠
So good to see you out cruising again and looking so happy. With regards to the CRT work; why do so many jump to criticism without thinking or understanding? I can assure you that CRT would not be spending money for no reason. Most big tow path projects are not using CRT money but are funded by other resources such as local councils, Sustrans, cycling budgets etc. Do you expect CRT to turn down alternative sources of funding if it provides a better towpath? I live on the South Oxford and the towpath into Oxford from Kidlington has been improved but all the money came from non CRT budgets. The small improvements elsewhere, especially around where you were moored at Lower/Upper Heyford, are down to CRT work and these have made a huge difference.
I know some local councils do fund the resurfacing of towpaths and we also know that south Oxford was particularly bad when we were last there and badly needed improvement. This path is in the middle of nowhere and is largely in really good condition. It is difficult to see it is money well spent.
Lovely video from the two of you(and the dogs of course). Why do dogs love digging in the sand on a beach. Liked the bus cafe. That looked very nice, which is more than that awful floating weed did. Yet another unwanted import!
As kids we used to gathering mushrooms the size of dinner plates from our local Rec' ... Our Dad's advice was - If you can peel the skin back easily - They're good - 60+ years later ?? - Still here 🤠

Great news about that "damnable" Himalayan balsam!!! Cheers! You simply have to try the pennywort as a cooked greens and let us know what it's like. Anything to reduce the invasive species 😀
Great Vlog of our neck of the woods. Chorley Market is a great little market and always busy. The towpath from Wigan to Appley Bridge (our mooring) has also been completely redone. We were told C&RT have got the funding from Cycle Great Britain Rich. How true, we don’t know. But it’s now like a race track and not very safe for our Golden Retriever Ralf😢
We have seen reports of that. This towpath is a bit isolated and in the middle of nowhere and is also in good condition, It is a waste of money whoever is funding it. We walked it several times and apart from a couple of puddles it was good
Not lit the fire yet but thinking it might be a good idea ! River levels on the Nene have risen quite a lot thanks to storm. Best place to be in floods is on a boat 😂. Lovely to see your travels and the filming is superb 💕🦆
@@FloatingOurBoat Couple of years ago the field next to us flooded from the river and swept across the path by the boat and into the river again, the dog was not best pleased at jumping into the water to go do her business but when you’ve got wellies it’s all good fun 😂💕🦆
Bit late now, but your curtains somewhere at the back should have a little label saying dry clean only all washable. Still a nice little video. Thank you😊😊
Can you help your American viewers, or maybe I missed it. All is possible. Who was the person and what was the series that the statue and writing in the pavement was referring to? I looked up the line and all I found was a blog post by someone in the foreign office, but no mention of the actual name of the show or the comedians. Thanks!

Thanks for taking us all on a little trip.

Thank you so much Lloyd. That is really appreciated x

Hi Fran Rich, We really enjoyed your vlog. Very interesting it was .Thank you for sharing it with us. You are an amazing couple 💑 xxx❤
That bus cafe looked brilliant
Great music 🎶 - the music while you were at the Chorley Market was so mellow and pensive. Loved it.

Hello. Thank you for the wave. We hope you had a great time
Lovely as usual, rain and all. Glad to hear you weathered the storm without incident.
Well done, I enjoyed your vlog
Thank you 😊
Hi guys!
It's a dog roll, Fran, or it is in my part of the world.

You are quite behind with dates when you put out your vlog....talking about storm Agnes.
We've just had storm Babet !!
Only a few weeks. Life is often full of better things to do than to sit editing at the computer.
I love Morecambe - not far for me - and I think the front is spectacular. The Midland Hotel - an Art Deco building - is beautiful; lovely food and accommodation. 💜 Soon, they are going to build an Eden Project type attraction; I hope it goes forward.🤞
The front of the Art Deco Hotel was wonderful. I hope the E den project goes ahead, it would be a great boost for Morecambe
That's what you need... a little butty or wee boat like Ben and Emily. Hope you haven't been impacted by the storm this weekend.
We have been watching and wondering 🤔
@@FloatingOurBoat would be a solution for a workshop for both of you and for the yarn stash!!
Lovely vid. Makes me want to go to Morecambe. But even more to go down the canals with you!
How are your seabirds doing? We used to have big flocks on all the big rocks, sandbars, shorelines, beaches and we rarely see any anymore. It’s been a few years ago we were finding them dead on the beaches with plastics in their stomach. 😢 We make me sad.
