5:20 There were a small number built to order by dealers in Australia, that fitted a Holden VL turbo engine as an option. This allowed a loophole for the turbo mod as ADR27 specified that it is ok, as the manufacturer offered it.
I remember learning to drive in a r31 skyline ti, back in the 90s. Those cars were ahead of their time 🔥
This was dope! I love how you're not pretentious with the cars you drive, also you explain them very eloquently and accurately when you drive them yourself. I used to have a pristine FD3S that I sold for 12k decades ago :( would be 30+k easily today. Daily a clean 09 370Z these days.

Glorious! Super clean! And hugely underrated in regards to the quality and engineering in these as even the Aussie version with b/w rear end out handle’s the other Australian sedan’s by far on basically the same gear

We had a Datsun skyline & an r30 both 5 speed pretty rare now. Two of my favourite cars, and a bluebird also 5 speed a 200b also 5 speed, had a 1200 ute manual, a 260z manual. All reliable.
The Super Silhouette was one of my favorites back in the day. I would love to see an R31 with a modern GTR drive train, or engine/trans at least.
There was one for sale about 6 months ago, was insanely good.

Jap spec IRS pillered running R32 GTST everything. Still got her now.

It sounds somehow like an older car, like a Hakosuka with L28 3L or so. Seems very fun to drive

Got one for 500 bucks in 2008-9. will never see it again 😂 why why why did I sell it. I went out a bought a silhouette steering wheel from a dude who kicked his back tail lights in because his car blew up or something. Those sketchy country towns I tell ya.

I hope I don't piss off any JDM purists with this but I think this RB30 sounds really similar to a BMW M50B25 engine and not just because it's a 6-cylinder.
No way, the rb30 sounds better than any raspy BMW engine.
@@aw294man That depends so much on the exhaust and manifold. I find the tone very similar and even the induction noise that comes after ~4000rpm.

A. Kind of cool car but the fact it was admittedly a second hand rally car and essentially the whole thing is worth like $25,000 kind of detracts from how cool it is. B. It is being displayed by a guy who is wearing a rick and Morty jumper 3 sizes too small and an Asian guy wearing lipstick. okay video but hard to find one where people display how cool this car actually is and this just doesn't do it justice..

It carries the skyline name plate, but was never designated a GTR badge, which would make it a true skyline. The infinity G35 briefly carried the skyline nameplate as well, but again, not a true skyline as it never received the GTR designation. There are two models prior to the R32, (a true syline) then the R33, 34 and current model. So 6 gens of GTR until the next nameplate GTR.
