I traded my old Fossil Hybrid smart watch from 2018 for a new HR, I love it. I’m not big into poking at my wrist like a standard smart watch. And I do love that it can look like standard watch when ever you want it to.
yeah I hide the little circles/panels a lot. it's nice to have the little notification dot on the bottom. I don't really care about my heart rate/calendar/whatever but it's nice to see if I need to check my phone. My only misgiving is that a few times when I had the watch on in full-on sunlight on the beath, it ghosted (but recovered when I got home). But whatever, I live in N Europe so it doesn't happen that often :D
Hey I came across this watch recently and I'm in love w it's look and simplicity. Would u recommend this watch even now? And also please give an account of its long term use. THANK YOU!
I loved my Fossil HR until I discovered that their quality control is below par. My first copy came with a greasy smudge on the E-ink display, under the glass. So I couldn't clean it. Then my second copy came with dirt on the same unreachable place. And then my third copy came with humid air inside. It's fine in room temperatures, but when it gets colder it fogs up on the inside! It's 3ATM waterproof so the moist doesn't come from outside the case, but inside! When I researched that a little bit, I discovered that replacing it was pointless. The watches are made in a humid environment. Most owners report their copies getting fogged up. Cheap watch brands like Casio discovered the fact that watches need to be assembled in dry environments for this reason somewhere half last century. There is no excuse for this error.
I have been owning this watch for over 5 months and its been a pleasure. The step counter is not accurate but all I personally care about is a good looking watch with notification features. The battery life is amazing. I average about 23 days with the heart rate sensor off which is crazy. Customizing the watch is always fun and there is an amazing Reddit community which shares their beautiful watchfaces.
ihad this watch for my birthday its been about 7 months and its really good i have been looking all over the internet for some good watch faces really glad to see you linking the watch faces even the little things you do in life can help out others. Thanks!
I picked this watch up right after seeing this video. This needs more press. It's fantastic. I can read the time and get notified about things I select like texts. The heart and sleep tracking is fine but the battery life and all time display of time is the winner. Thanks for bringing this watch to our attention.
I just got mine today. Only paid $100. Three quick questions. 1) Is it possible to delete notifications ONE BY ONE or do I have to do all at once? 2) Can I remove Alexa since I never use it? 3) How do I stop WELLNESS from showing all the time? Great video!
Wow, I had no idea about the custom watch faces ability, I only used the Fossil gallery until now. I'm rocking the HHWC by Shenji now. Thanks for the great videos, much love from a Canuck in the States!

I so miss my pebble time. Im a huge fan of e-ink and love analog watches. This watch looks like it has the best of both worlds. My wife got me one for my birthday should be delivered in two days, I can't wait.
Yes finally, I've been wondering when you'll make review of your Fossil hybrid watch since it's been making appearance quite a lot in your recent videos. I'm a fan of hybrid watches and currently wearing the older gen Fossil Commuter Q. It doesn't have any screen on it, just analog watchface with rotating needle indicating information, it's a true sleeper. Beneath the unassuming face, I can still track my steps, sleep, controlling music and receiving notifications while lasting for roughly 6+ months using coin battery like classic timepiece, no more worry about charging another stuff, it's a brilliant little gadget. This new one does pique my interest when it was first introduced last year, now with clever e-ink screen, HR sensor and that customized watchfaces looks dope, seems like a great deal of upgrade from mine. But I don't have the need to upgrade currently as mine still working perfectly fine and that's the best thing about hybrid watches, it won't get outdated like true smartwatch because it's so simple, design is classy and the smart features is enough for casual user like myself. Cheers 😁
I didn't even realize this existed until a few weeks ago, I bought it from Amazon, and it is one of my favorite in my collection. I even like it better than my Fossil Gen5 or my Pebble Time.
I had a Samsung watch but found that I was always using the analog style faces. Discovered the Fossil about six months ago. Other than occasionally losing connection, I'm very happy with it!
So I had a fitbit for a few years until it died. The thing was that I could not read the display in bright light so it was useless outside. Sometimes I would wear a classic watch on one wrist and the fitbit on the other. I just got a fossil hybrid watch yesterday and am still learning how to use it. I wish i knew about the step counter accuracy before picking it. However, I like the look and the fact i can see the time in full daylight.
Thanks for the review! Currently in the market for a smartwatch, I definitely wouldn't mind a watch like this but since getting in shape is a current goal of mine, I would definitely prefer something that has a more accurate step counter. I'll definitely have to research some other hybrid watch styles now

Hybrid smart watches are the way to go. I prefer the last version of the fossil hybrid watches. They didn't have a screen but still have ways to tell all the info one needs
I once saw it selling for rm600 which is around $140. Idk if I should buy it, I love the concept and all I want is something to track my steps and something to give me a heads up notification to see if I get any important messages without checking my phone.
Casio actually already started making smartwatches with G-Shock GSW-H1000 But Seiko apparently now focus their resource more on mechanical watches, in order to combat Swiss mechanical watch in $500-$1500 pricepoint
I reeeeally want to get this. But does it store music in it? I don't want to have to bring my phone when I go for a stroll, but would love to have my music.
Actually a good hr watch, but with all features what it offer's, isn't the OnePlus watch a much better choice? I mean you get the same and more features with the one plus watch, only disadvantage less battery power but still about 5 days (In my case at least). But on the other hand you have an OLED screen with various watchfaces, runs fast and fluently and top of that it costs 160€, not to forget the insane charging speed which kinda compensates the advantage of battery Life in comparison. What do you think?
I don't think "better" is the right word for it. It's definitely an alternative, but the OnePlus watch is in a different product category. The Hybrid HR is a hybrid smartwatch that sacrifices some smart features for a more fashionable design and better battery life. The OnePlus watch is more of what you would call a normal smartwatch. It looks far less fashionable on your wrist with the OLED screen and lack of always on display, but it does have some better features. It's all personal preference.
I've owned this watch for the past 8 months and it's been a horrible experience overall. I've had to take it to the service centre 5 times during my ownership experience. The service managers were also super rude and never wanted to admit that the watch had any defect. Please dont buy this watch. You can also head over to reddit to read stories from others (I wish I had done the same before purchasing it)
I have replaced my display 4 times in the last 19 months. each time it goes ok to progressive degradation of the display for 4-5 months, and then boom display washes out completely beyond reading legibility. And fossil repair in my country takes 1 month at a time to replace the watch. So not so happy about the experience.
Comparison with Pebble Time Round comes to mind. At frist glance it seems like a slightly updated version of a PTB. But this watch is piggybacking with a companion app which the old PTB did not need with tons of apps and with Pebble you even had e-ink with color :-) so, where is here the progress? This Fossil? No 3rd party apps = big minus. With Pebble you still can make phone calls, dictate, not with this ... so, essentially it is a dumb watch witch some bells and whistels to pose as a smart watch
Thanks for your straightforward review. It caught my eye because we have the same style of watch strap, and I’m currently using a Fossil smartwatch. A couple of days’ battery life sounds like a huge upgrade, considering all the functions it still has! Shame about the step counter, but as of two years ago that seemed more the rule than the exception, so it doesn’t surprise me. I’d consider having both a hybrid and a smartwatch in rotation, as the charging needs of the watch I currently have don’t always fit well into my schedule. I also appreciate your sponsor spot being for a company that viewers may find genuinely useful. (I use Nord for the reasons you listed, and it works well for me.) Wish more channels would rep products that ordinary people can find a use for!
Love the hybrid watches (fossil, vivomove), but my biggest problem still remains: when you clear a notification from the watch you still have to clear it again from the phone. The moment they fix this I'll buy one.
That little flick to make the hands get out of the way is magical!

You're good. You should be part of the linus tech tips team. In fact, you would have been a better face and voice for their new mac channel.
My hybrid watch time not set plz help
Didn't this watch comes out forever ago?
So not so happy about the experience.
btw which phone was that @ 5:21 along the iphone 12?
Pixel 4. Next Tech Rewind phone I'm testing!
@@MarkSpurrell oh wow
@@MarkSpurrell it looked a lot like the s9 but with a different power button
This is definitely my style
thanks for this!!!
With Pebble you still can make phone calls, dictate, not with this ... so, essentially it is a dumb watch witch some bells and whistels to pose as a smart watch
why the auto CC subtitle is in vietnam 😭
well done, as usual!
Thank you!
This looks like something for me.
I actually like the Apple Watch exactly because it doesn’t look like a regular watch.
That's fair! I did too at first, but quickly gravitated back to the look of traditional watches. It's all personal preference!
Not connected with Vivo x70
Too bad you can't reply to messages. The Pebble watches you could with preset texts like "OK", "will talk to you later" or whatever you want.
Alexandre christie S002 please . . .
Love the hybrid watches (fossil, vivomove), but my biggest problem still remains: when you clear a notification from the watch you still have to clear it again from the phone.
The moment they fix this I'll buy one.
