I have very distant relatives in the UK. I have no idea where they are or their names. Most of my family emigrated from the UK to the US in the early 1800s.
I often wonder how my life would have been different if I had lived in the UK rather than the US.
I am a retired lawyer living in an extremely rural area about 100 miles from New Orleans.

Hi, i know you touched on this a little bit but how have you found the social life as a postgraduate in comparison to an undergrad. i’m going on to study the sqe masters course at the ulaw on the university of east anglia campus :)

I think it was difficult for me because all of my friends lived in Cambridge or London this year and I didn't really have the time or money to visit from ncl, so I was kind of starting again making friends. I think the most important thing is to just remember that it takes time to make good friends! I would recommend joining a society at the uni and trying to talk to your ULaw classmates outside of lessons. Everyone in my law class was lovely but I remember being really nervous to ask some of them to meet up for food outside of class when it literally wasn't a big deal at all 😂 and I stayed friends with them too!

@@GeorgieEllen10 thank you :) i will definitely take this into account. I was already at the campus i’m joining for my undergrad so it might be easier for me as i have friends returning from years abroad and placement.

It's natural here in india that we follow English system of law with some exceptions. The philosophy of Indian legal system has it's source from British rule in India, and quite an interesting thing is our criminal procedure code and Indian penal code was first written by Lord Thomas Babington Macaulay.
