He does not argue for an all powerful president, or monarch. We had the president he argued for until his power went overboard with the recent court decision.

Johnson was by no means a conservative nor a fascist, he was a staunch civil rights advocate all his life, he liked to press his limits for executive power but always for what he believed was the nations greater good, his poor handling of vietnam was brought about less by powermadness and more because he had been planning to pass further social reforms when fighting in vietnam started up and he knew that bringing the request for approval for major military action up to congress would cost him any ability to negotiate support for those bills from the conservatives who helped him pass the civil rights bills, but he also thought doing nothing was out of the question because south vietnam was a democratic ally and he was warned if it fell communism would spread throughout asia, what he was attempting initially was to send a few troops to help train, arm and reinforce south nam until it's army capable of holding it's own. The real problem was that most Vietnamese people weren't intrested in democracy or capitalism and the blatant corruption of the south Vietnamese government meant its armies werent well trained or armed and they just kept falling apart in every battle and becoming more reliant on American support thus dragging us deeper into the conflict which led LBJ to approve many less than savory operations and bombings that he thought would bring the north Vietnamese to the table for peace talks, but that wouldn't happen because neither side could comprehend splitting the country over ideological differences.

I was doubtful at first with Biden because of how he flopped in the debate. Allan Lichtman helped me to understand that debates aren't predictive of outcomes, that Biden has a clear incumbancy advantage as well as other keys. Still voting for Biden. I'm scared as heck.
