The prime talk for men has been greatly exaggerated. At first it was early 20 yr olds but than it changed to late 20 yr olds. Now it's being talked about as 30+ yr olds when you get that "old man strength". Truth is anyone with experience in something should become better at something. You have people doing extreme sports like mountain climbing, skateboarding, surfing etc where they get better after 35-40 yr old age bracket. It hasn't been debunked yet but besides some health problems that comes with middling age, I think 40-50 year olds can/should be able to handle most people.

While these types of atheltes are far from the average person, it still holds true that skill + training can prolong a older man's career in physical activities. Army is full of 30+ year olds putting in work with the 18+ crowd's.
