  • In collaboration with Google, today we proudly unveil the world's FIRST generally available security chatbot: OpenCRE-Chat! Entrust your security questions with lnkd.in/erwav6Sc (Gmail account required) - powered by the knowledge collected in OpenCRE to get more reliable answers and references. Model operation is generously sponsored by Software Improvement Group (SIG).
Using Google’s great conversational PaLM AI technology, we created a large language model that uses the security standards collected in OpenCRE as the primary resource for answering questions. The advantage of this approach is that the answers are more reliable since they come from vetted and leading standards (ISO, NIST, CAPEC, CWE, OWASP, etc.), plus the Chatbot provides references together with the answers. Note: It still is generative AI, so no guarantees for perfection.
In contrast, regular chatbots typically do not provide references, and they take their information from the entire internet, which can be a problem if the answer is a hallucination, or from an outdated, unreliable, or even malicious source.
OpenCRE.org is the free open-source catalog of cyber security concerns, collected from a wide range of security regulations, standards, and guidelines. It was created at @OWASP foundation to solve the mapping problem in the complex and fragmented landscape of security standards. Users can find all the information they need regarding a concern by browsing and searching the catalog: regulatory sources, threats, and weaknesses, test guidance, programming tips, configuration for tools, etcetera.

Question: Is the OpenCRE chatbot model open sourced?
