    Great guide, thank you. I personally will be renewing the slider pins also and regreasing. These should at least be checked, rubbed down and regreased if reused. New carrier bolts and disc screw are a good idea too.

    To anyone following this guide, you may wish to note that the 28 lb ft torque setting given at 6:14 should be 28 Nm.

    I found out about Copper grease after having to remove and Alloy wheel from a car I owned. As I understand it the corrosion activity between the steel and the alloy makes it very difficult to remove the wheel. And it was a hell of a job trying to get the wheel off the hub, not something I would want to do by the side of the road. Good clear video. Cheers!

    Why specify ft/ibs for the caliper but nm for the carrier and disc?

      @CaulayMaculkin ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The mechanic gives the correct number with the wrong unit. 28 Nm is the required torque setting.

    Thanks for the tips,,,but I must say the various bolts came undone pretty easily,I expect when I do mine that will not be the case,,,regards

      It's very rarely that easy with older cars, unless they've recently been worked on, even then, not a guarantee lol You take each one as it comes, and work out solutions to the problems as they arise.

    why no copper grease in between new disc and hub .

    • @RimmerBrosTV
      @RimmerBrosTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Never use Copper Grease on the back side of a brake disc mounting face as this can increase the Disc run out lead to DTV (Disc Thickness Variation) causing brake judder. Copper Grease is also an excellent conductor of heat and can significantly increase heat transfer.
