Poor decision by the judges. Akimoto's a strong fighter but Zhang was on the front foot the whole fight and had overall more effective striking and better defense. He should have been awarded the win.
That means China is no longer popular( it's a joke so don't you dare to fire back). LOL

Zhang has more power and gave akimoto pressure almost the whole fight, but akimoto has more strikes landed and strikes blocked, scores, knockouts, and submission are the key to win a fight and akimoto used the scores to win

There is no way a Chinese fighter can win by the way of a decision if they judges are Americans.
I was as confused as Zhang at the end. He clearly won that fight.

akimoto successfully hits several times, he is more aggressive while having a good defense, he wins from afar (normal for a kyokushin karateka)
Close fight but I had Zhang edging the win he had the more solid power shots..

Referee probably knew Zhang won, then corrected to raise Akimoto's hand after the announcement.
Zhang thought he had won the fight and raised his hand prematurely only to find out he had lost. Mr. Xi Ji Peng must be really upset now. LOL

I love how One has different types of fights. I wonder if in the future they'll continue to branch out. It'd be great to see sanda rules, sambo rules, vale tudo or even just pure boxing. The variety makes it so exciting and makes for a really diverse range of styles and talent.
They have pure boxing, although not as prevalent as their Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA.

@@alstone4253 Yeah I remember seeing a pure boxing match or two from ONE FC. Wasn't aware of Lethwei, but yeah the have grappling matches. This is why I think ONE is the best...not only top-notch fighters, but diverse array of martial arts.

I think Zhang did more damage but Akimoto had him figured out and still had gas. He was standing him up to punch his chin at the end with all of those leaps.
