The wisdom of our ancestors is in line with what science is revealing. Life evolves. Energy can neither be created or lost.

Reincarnation is almost the same thing we are thought in biology about dominant and recessive genes. Nice teaching

I stopped doubting reincarnation when I learned of someone who is a reincarnation of her grandmother. She died from a wound to the heal that became infected. The girl was born with the same wound at the same spot and it hurts if you touch it.

The human spirit has one continuous existence. The purpose of reincarnation is to afford us the opportunity to redeem and right a wrong we may committed here. This is part of the Grace of the Almighty. Yes reincarnation is a fact. When Jesus Christ was asked if he was Elijah that has come? His answer was clear, that Elijah has come and already. If reincarnation is not a fact of life, then Christ's answer would have been different. We need to go back to the history of Christianity to see that belief in reincarnation was willfully removed from Christian teaching. Now the Christians will tell you that Christ is coming back. If this statement is true, is that not reincarnation. The Western world has done a lot of damage to Spirituality.

Definitely true or correct?...it is great that this information is presented. Our culture and tradition will be more prominent as nature always as a way of restoring itself despite the evils of colonialism.

We are all reincarnated through the genes our parents passed along to us. Looking like your dead uncle/aunt/relative, etc. is not reincarnation. It is passing genes, and sometimes, long recessive genes come to life generations later. Yes, I believe in reincarnation based on the terms I just described. In the final analysis, all you described namely "Resemblance and Character trait" are all consistent with the expression of genes inherited from one's ancestors.

Darwin stated that acquired traits cannot be inherited right?
How do you explain acquired traits such as injury marks on certain body parts of the deceased relative that the newborn bears?

    Good presentation, Glory.
Well, for me, I think the issue about 'reincarnation' is that 'reincarnation' has a problem of nomenclature. What I mean is that 'reincarnation' is a phenomenon that has been given a wrong name. In the Bible teachings, we are meant to understand that life has no end, rather, it is transformed. Now d question is.. how is life being transformed for one to continue living after death? D answer will take us to life after death which thinkers have referred to as 'reincarnation'. But this concept of 'reincarnation' is completely different from d experience we have in Igbo traditional society where someone returns back to life,in another form, to continue living.
Looking at 'reincarnation',,it means coming back to life after death, with ones original body, facial looks, skin color and behavior. So this definition differentiate reincarnation from what we see in a 'reincarnated' person who only possess some qualities of a believed 'reincarnated' person, his facial looks but entirely in another body and some times in a different skin color.
Let me conclude by saying that Africans should look for a more appropriate name to be given to this situation of life after death nd not to wrongly call it 'reincarnation' because it is a true life situation which has proven itself in many ways in traditional Igbo society. Thank you.

I disagree that Christianity is against reincarnation. Reason? What then transpired in the scene when christ came down with Peter and brother from mountain and he asks them who ppl think he is? They said some say he's Elijah who is to come. and he told them Elijah already has come (John the Baptist).

As for the Europeans unless they take things up in their arms nothing of other people's idea is correct or valued which is big mistake. They think to know everything just having spent some miuntes in the land of the people. Yes, the igbo don't vest in suit they are fifferent people. Have we thought about the people that tie wrapper in this would? Just to think of certain relations see the counyries yourself and tell me why is it so. Is the check shirt the Britain men wear on their attire or coppied? When the European are not yet doing what you do, it will be prohibited but when once they begin, they will claim, rename, modernise and put away others from it.

Genes can skip generations. Reason why someone can have a lot of traits from an ancestor down the line whose genes has not been phenotypically manifested for generations. Science has the explanations we can't present in the phenomenon in Igbo form.
