God I love this. They almost make it sound reminiscent of vintage Cheap Trick at times.

I think I read somewhere that Prince would go see the early punk bands in Minneapolis, so this song could in fact have been inspired by the Replacements

I think it was after Bob left. The Prince song came out in 1987, so it must've been Slim on guitar.
