intermittent diff locking or just too tight , slipper not slippy enough , as you mentioned the diff is bad its the first place to look, its not tyres , its too aggressive a front end set up and the diff not working means you have a shoddy drift car rather than a pro class race buggy , dial out that front end for that track and get the diff sorted with a slightly looser slipper and all will be much better . happy hobbying and loads of love.
Tires should be sanded down I just hate doing it. I do sauce prep and will be working on adding brass C block to rear next and adjusting setup for that.

thanks for sharing. I will say your buggy rear grip level seems almost non-existent, make sure to check your tire prep and slipper setting
