thank you for this. Am teaching a class about process simulation and this was very helpful for me to predict what/how my students might need to customize their objects/executors. I'd also add "number of objects" as a consideration as the free flexsim has a 40 object limit that casual users will need to consider.

Yes and some of the things I talk about in the video might not be possible with the free version because not everything is accessible in this version. The video was more directed to people developing with the full version.

And in my territory (Canada-Quebec), I give students a student license when FlexSim is used in class or for an academic project. This license is limited to 100 objects and has fewer restrictions that the free version.
For a full list of differences see this page: answers.flexsim.com/articles/65811/flexsim-features-by-license-type.html

I want to make a simulation of an agv that I designed for a company in the automotive sector, which will transport 7 trollies (of steering wheels) attached to each other, is this feasible on flexsim? and can I import the 3D catia file of the trolley and the agv also that I will use

Do you mean something like this? : th-cam.com/video/ik2h4wi34O8/w-d-xo.html
I explain a little in the comments how the model is built.
As for the catia file, check in the FlexSim manual if you can import the file format and/or try it. It probably can. BUT, if you import a huge complex file, your model will be slow and sluggish. You need to import a simplified / lightened file.

where can I download these objects?, for example the bench drill

    • @PatrickCloutierConseil

If you type "bench drill 3d model" in a browser you will find a bunch of sites where you can either download for free or purchase the object. Sometimes, free is good enough. Sometimes it is better to purchase depending on your need or on what you find. I personnally always start by looking on 3D Warehouse by Sketchup to see what I can find.

How can we model machines utilizing the SMED process? like a drill with 2 bits. The first bit makes the process while preparing the second bit, then the second start processing immediately?

1-The machine set-up time doesn't have to be the same for all products. In the dropdown you can specify what set-up time applies at which conditions. 2 -If you want to show set-up work being performed by an operator while the machine is running, you will need to create it with an operator doing a separate process WHILE the machine is running. Not by checking '"use operator" because this is for setup being performed BEFORE the process. The best way to do this would be with a ProcessFlow. I suggest you post your question on answers.flexsim.com/ which is the right place to find answers, get detailed answers and post models.

@@PatrickCloutierConseil Thank you so much, Pat. I wish if there were private courses for FlexSim.

@@zae5pm There are. Most distributors organize them in their region and in the regional language. I do some in French and English in Quebec, Canada where I am. You can also register for online training in English given by FlexSim head office. The dates are on www.flexsim.com/calendar/ and you will also find the list of distributors at www.flexsim.com/contact/
