College football is Americas best kept secret. It’s so much better than NFL and filled to the brim with rivalries, history, and tradition. It also means more than the NFL bc it’s much more related to specific regions, so the fans are incredibly passionate
They sing "Won't Back Down" (Tom Petty) because the school is in Gainesville, Florida - birthplace of Tom Petty. He's worshipped there. My favorite is WVU and Take Me Home Country Roads. I am a native of West Virginia and although I didn't graduate from WVU, I still get tears in my eyes and sing along. Pride in being a Mountaineer. These were fun to watch. Thanks for the reaction.
I'm a Kentucky native and fan through and through... but Alabama's Dixieland Delight tradition is my favorite. "FUCK AUBURN... AND TENNESSEE TOO!" lmaooo
My team (Ole Miss; University of Mississippi - seen at 7:59 in this vid) is directly responsible for three other teams' traditions. Mississippi State has cowbells because (supposedly) one year in the early 1900s during their game with us (a rivalry now known as the Egg Bowl), we were significantly ahead at halftime when a random cow meandered onto the field with a bell around her neck. State then came back to win the game, and from then on considered the cowbell a good luck charm. One of Ole Miss' own traditions--the one shown in the video--is the "Hotty Toddy" chant; a former Ole Miss band director was hired on at Alabama in the 80s and adapted the chant for their school/band, creating "Rammer Jammer". To this day, the drum major at Alabama signals the start of the chant by holding his/her arms in a big 'O' for "Ole Miss". In 2009, Ole Miss was ranked 4th in the country early in the season (for some reason) and had a road game at South Carolina. During the fourth quarter, they played Sandstorm and the crowd went absolutely nuts, causing Ole Miss to take a substitution penalty (a penalty that occurs before the snap; these kinds of penalties are often attributed to the crowd making it difficult for the offense to communicate) and ultimately fail to comeback to win the game. I believe this wasn't the first time they had played the song in the stadium, but it really became a tradition after this (this one was in the previous video, I believe). Post info-dump comment: my favorite in-stadium traditions (besides my school's) are definitely the Iowa wave to the children's hospital and the Florida State chop/Osceola. Hope you can do a vid on tailgates sometime. One of the best parts of college ball
The bird at Auburn is a full grown American or Bald eagle with about an 8-10 foot wingspan and 4” talons. It’s an incredible sight live. Worth a deep dive because it’s been loaned out for the Olympics and pro sports events, has a great story behind it and a noble objective of conservation.
War Damn Eagle! I am a proud alumnus and member of the Auburn Family! Attending that school changed me and made me a better person. I was also able to serve as one of the Tiger Eye instructors' from 2010-2018, so I have a National Championship ring....but more importantly, I was on the sidelines for Kick Six. It is so great to be an Auburn Tiger!
War Damn Eagle!!!🦅 the Eagle flight before every home game is the most amazing experience!!! I have been to 30 home games since I was 5 I am 36 now and it’s amazing every time!!!
The NFL is NOTHING compared to college football. It's absolutely electric and college fans are fanatical about their teams....as I am about the Tennessee Volunteers. I graduated from Tennessee in 1976 and absolutely nothing can replace the pride that I have in my school and my team. I'm sure that all college fans feel the same way about their teams. It's a healthy rivalry that I hope lives on forever.
10:33 - They throw tortillas onto the field.. That's Texas Tech. Players from my Oklahoma Sooners have said that they've even thrown batteries at them, so they keep their helmets on when they're on the sidelines.
West Virginiaaaaaaaa!!!!!!! Mountain mommaaaaaaaa!!!!!!! Take me home!!!!!!!!! Country Roads!!!!!! It’s played after every home victory and the whole stadium sings it together. It’s magical!
I've always liked Iowa. Waving to the kids in the hospital is just the best tradition. Plus, they wear the same uniforms as the pro team in my city. The story goes back in the '70s Iowa wanted to make a change to their uniforms, and someone decided that "If we're gonna be champions, we should look like champions." So they call up the Steelers equipment manager (Steelers were a dynasty in the '70s) and ask to be sent a few uniforms to use as a template. We sent them and to this day they're still wearing them.
HAIL STATE BABY🔥🙌🏼!! The Cowbells come from Mississippi State University’s (MSU) background as an agricultural school, and are hated by every SEC (Southeastern Conference, which MSU is a part of) school they play, but my god is it electric when every. single. State fan is Ringing their cowbell when we get a touchdown. It’s deafening, but inspiring at the same time. Also, RIP to the best coach ever, Mike Leach (you should react to him at some point, the mad genius of college football)!! We were blessed to have you as our coach in your last years! Gone way too soon, but man, did you leave an impact! I know you are still watching over us, swinging your sword and calling mesh routes from on high ⚔️🏈!
4:40 is Notre Dame fighting Irish. The most underrated atmospheres in Ameirca. They use Dropkick Murphys during the game and their post game tradition is one tied deeply to american history. They sing the Alma Mater and lock arms with the people next to each other win or lose. Stems from a game against Navy (American Navy's football team) during WW2 and did this with them to honor the troops.
College football is basically a cross between advertising for the school and just being a big flex to the opponents that they have the biggest stadiums, most fans, richest alumni, best cheerleaders, ect. The traditions are great though, and keep in mind that college footballs first game was almost 100 years before the first Super Bowl, and a little less than 50 years before the NFL was founded. Plus, state pride in the US is a really big thing, especially in the Midwest and South.
10:18 at Texas Tech, we've been tossin' tortillas at kickoff since the early 1990s. A rival team's player said, in a press conference before the game, that Lubbock (Texas Tech's location) is nothing but land and a tortilla factory. The fans brought tortillas and threw them at kickoff. This has since become tradition. We also had the first live mascot lead a team onto the field in the 1950s at the Gator Bowl. Several teams (Florida State and Oklahoma State) have adapted the Masked Rider mascot to fit their own school mascot. Oklahoma State has copied our mascot (a Tech alum instituted their live mascot), hand sign, and slogan, so we call them Xerox State. We are rivals in the Big 12 Conference.
I can't convey to you how much of a good time they are, it's just a great vibe. Again, I love the recognition you have, bruh! Impressive for an Ausie! And you can take the family. Kids, Misses, it doesn't matter, nothing is gonna happen!
Marching band halftime shows are a traditional part of scholastic football but there are also pregame shows which are not only the opening act to the afternoon's festivities, they are the ritual of football, the call to gather the faithful, not only to stir the competitive fervor for the day's game but to connect us with those who came before us. You've watched several OSU halftimes, I think you would enjoy watching their pregame. Its form is set in tradition; the band has entered the stadium in the same manner for very nearly 100 years now. The music they play, the University's fight song and alma mater (American high schools and colleges have a school hymn/anthem referred to generically as "Alma Mater") are well over a century old; the band has been performing it's signature routine (pun intended) for 88 years. The video "Pregame - Ohio State vs. Arkansas State (9/10/22)" would be a good example for a reaction - decent tech quality and just the basic show.
Lyle the one with the bird is Actually a Eagle 🦅 and before every game it 2:43 circles the stadium and everyone yells WAR EAGLE 🦅. That is Auburn University my old college. Their Mascot is the Tiger 🐯
My high school used to sell cowbells at home games because they really annoy the other team. Also, football season in the USA is a weekend event. Friday night is high school football, Saturday is college football, and Sunday is the NFL. You should react to the best high school stadiums in the US. We LOVE our football from when our kids begin to play when they are 7 years old.
Hail State and here is the reason Miss. State has cowbells ! Back in the days State played a game against Arch rival Ole Miss and State was down big time. Dont ask me why but a cow showed up with a bell around her neck and State came back and won the game. Ever since then we ring our cowbells.
The one that went dark and is playing the Irish band the dropkick Murphys is at Notre Dame in Indiana and it is usually done between the 3rd and 4th quarter! I'm biased as a notre dame fan but its incredible to be in the stadium when the lights drop!!
At 8:00 yes that is Oklahoma, and the next you asked about is University of Nevada Las Vegas. The end zone had the possibly mysterious word Rebels, a shortened version of "The Running Rebels."
Nebraska is ALWAYS packed to the brim. They haven't had a home game that wasnt sold out in 396 games and they're still going. The first game of the streak was November 3rd 1962
8:27 is Kansas State with the Wabash Cannonball. the tradition dates back to 1968, when a fire wiped out most of the band's music and instruments and the song was one of the only surviving pieces of sheet music.

7:41 - Yeah, that's Oklahoma. They're shouting "Boomer!.. Sooner!" For some reason, the football entrance video you watched left out the part where they had their horses and wagon being ran across the field in front of the players. Their mascot is a horse and wagon and they're called the Sooners because of a land rush event in the late 1800's (I think), where they lined up their wagons and rushed out to claim land. Last night our women's softball team won their 4th consecutive National Championship. Which has never been done before in the history of the sport.. They've been a juggernaut. Many of the seniors won a national championship every year that they played for the team.
Hey man love the vids, dont worry about people getting upset because you get the schools wrong. True College Football fans love seeing your reaction to whats normal for us!
I would recommend looking up documentaries on youtube or even just X University football traditions. There are a lot of well made, informative videos about college football. I’d recommend looking into programs like Michigan (and their rivalry w Ohio State), Alabama, Texas, and Florida. There’s lots more ‘storied’ programs as well, but that’s a good starting point. If you’re really interested and looking for some short form reaction content, I’d recommend looking into top high school football/athletic facilities. Same for college actually too. Their training facilities are top tier.
The cowbell get so loud there the visiting team can't hear each other and can cause serious communication issues. If you are there it's like having been at a loud rock concert, you can't hear for several hours after the game and the ringing stays in your ear the whole game, even when they aren't ringing any more. It's INSANELY loud!
We do practice cowbell ettiquette though. Ring at certain times, yell at others. And if you ring out of turn, you just may get the what's-it from others around you because the SEC has been known to fine us if things get out of hand. We don't want to lose our cowbell privileges.
@@cindycookswithtupperware5482 Pretty sure when I went to MSU back in the day (graduated 2005) we actually DID lose cowbell privileges for a bit there.
@anaplaysstuff , yes, I think that is what prompted the cowbell rules of when we can and can't ring. I don't remember exactly, though. We do take that stuff seriously though!
Bama Alumni, Starkville resident... The number of Aussies playing American college football pretty amazing, and making it to the NFL .. yes, it started with punters and kickers, but seeing them all through the lineups (yes a baseball term but it works) Adjusting to small town American South, some of the social media is hysterical from the guys!
I've been told by a close friend who went to Miss State, you're not a true fan unless you have a cowbell. They take it very seriously. And on my side, ahem ROLL TIDE, one tradition that not many people pick up on is that whenever Alabama (Crimson Tide) gets a 1st down and after the announcer says it, the crowd yells ROLL TIDE! Every... single... time 😝
Something else about the cowbell it's part of the tradition that someone gives you your first cowbell. It's a long history that dates back to when a dairy cow walked onto the field during an ole miss game where State came from behind in that game and won. It was very disrespectful when the SEC tried to ban it for a couple of decades as an artificial noise maker while Tennessee has been known to pipe in crowd noise on top of their 100k seat stadium.

A simple college football game roughly last you about 2 1/2 to 3 hours but we turn it into a full day event. Likely its the biggest thing going on in the region or state. Anywhere from 60,000 to 120,000 people packed into the stadium. The tailgating parties normally start setting up a little after dawn if not the night before. Smokers and bbq, rib, brisket, tacos, nachos, burger, hotdog, and plenty of your favorite adult beverages. Most of the bigger schools have what essentially is a small pregame faire setup outside the stadium. Normally large screen TV playing either team related videos or other games in progress. Places where you can meet former players and the kids can get autographs. Merch vendors, food and drink vendor, even concerts by local bands. Each game is probably as big as the Footy finals at the MCG.
The last one was Texas Tech...we throw tortillas on the field after kicking off the 1st and 2nd halfs. We also have the Midnight Matador lead the team on the field
Sir, greetings from Pakistan. Brilliant reactions indeed as always. Great atmosphere! Sir, there were no coke studio season 15 releases during this week. Some are saying that they are taking a break. In the mean time, I am listing some songs as follows which were not part of any season but worth to listen to and reacted to:- 1) A kind of magic by Karakoram and Eva B ( released after Coke studio season 14), 2) Mera Sawera by Shae Gill ( released after Coke studio season 14), 3) One love by Shae Gill & Evdeki Saat (released after Coke studio season 14), 4) Peechay Hutt - Quick Style version (released after Coke studio season 14), 5) Kana Yari - Quick Style version (released after Coke studio season 14), 6) Pasoori remix (released after Coke studio season 14), 7) Cricket khidaaye by Atif Aslam & Faris Shafi (released after Coke studio season 13 known as coke studio 2020), 8) ASMA ul Husna (99 names of God) by Atif Aslam (released after Coke studio season 13 known as coke studio 2020), 9) Aao Ahad karain (released after Coke studio season 12), 10) Hum Aik Hain (released after Coke studio season 12). Sir, I am not sure whether English subtitles are available for the last one or two or not. Sir, since no songs are released for coke studio season 15, yourself may consider reacting to the above as per your convenience so that we are able to witness something from Coke studio on our favourite channel. Best wishes for the channel. With warm regards
Cow Bells! My mother started my team's cow bell tradition at football games. Anytime there was a great play going on or occurred, she'd ring a cow bell starting in 4th grade. We ended up losing only one game 4th grade through 9th grade seasons, but the varsity team was awful. We got a new head coach my 12th (Sr) year. Mom still rang those bells. First practice after our first public scrimmage, we watched film to review. First major play, there's that cow bell. Coach was like, wtf is that? That had been my grade's tradition, and he grew to like it. 14 years later, he's still there with a player's mom continuing the tradition of ringing cow bells
These happen every week for 5 months out of the year. And every single game is this hype, if not more hype for bigger games & every game has just as many fans as the last game! You should check out high school football, I think you’d be surprised how big that is too
I love the University of Iowa's tradition of waving to the children. The only thing missing is...COWBELLS! Granted, other schools HATE our beloved cowbells, but then when you have 60,000+ ringing at the same time it can get a tad rowdy. At least we do practice cowbell ettiquette and we do have cowbell choreography. Saturdays at Davis-Wade are a true experience. #HailState!
CFB is the passion of american athletics. No where else will you see 100,000 people gather to chant their teams name in unison for 3 hours. Joe Namath said it best, " When you win, nothing hurts". The collegiate game just means more to everyone
The Iowa tradition always hits me right in the feelings. I love that they set up the hospital so the kids could watch the games live free of charge. Brings back a little faith in humanity for me.
Nebraska's football stadium was actually at one time the largest city in the state. It isn't any longer, thanks to the growth of their two largest cities, but it was something they were proud of. Oklahoma's mascot is the Sooner. Their chant is "Boomer! Sooner!" If you sit in a red seat, you yell Boomer. If you sit in a white seat, you yell Sooner. It is really impressive and somewhat demoralizing to visiting teams. Kansas State's use of the Wabash Cannonball came from a fire in the academic building that housed the music department. The only pieces of music left for the marching band were the Star Spangled Banner, the KSU fight song (Wildcat Victory) and Wabash Cannonball. The band played the latter two on repeat through the rest of that football season and a tradition was born. It's worth it to find the Pride of Wildcatland Marching Band to see the entire dance routine that the cheer squad & dance team do to it. Texas Tech is the college home of 3-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes. He's still a dedicated Red Raider. I haven't seen Colorado in either of the videos so far. They have a bison that runs down the field. Yes, I am an Alum of the Big 12 conference, home (until recently) of all of these schools!
Lowell you should get a visa and come to the US during our Fall, that is when college football is played. Travel the US and experience some college games in the SEC (Southeastern Conference).
Baylor does a sic’em and we play a special song in between third and fourth quarter called Word up. Freshman and seniors run onto the field before the game.
They banned cowbells in our basketball arena where I live in Sacramento. It was so loud, the other teams couldnt concentrate. Sacramento has always been known affectionately as a "cowtown". It's home of the Sacramento Kings.
Unfortunately, whoever put together this video used really poor quality video and audio and chose some truly bizarre edits. 5:25 is Texas A&M. The students and fans in the stands are collectively called "The 12th Man" (which A&M owns the copyright to). The first part is them yelling "Beat the hell outta Bama". One of their traditional yells is "Beat the hell outta (opponent name)". The next cut is to the middle of the Aggie War Hymn, the school's fight song. What is shown is them swaying side to side while singing "Saw Varsity's horns off". The sway is meant to represent a saw sawing the horns off of a longhorn, the mascot of the school's rival, Texas University. The entire fanbase does the sway and it is enough movement that the stadium itself actually sways and can be felt in the press box. The cut after that is the last part of the The Spirit of Aggieland, the school's alma mater. The last part of the song is a series of yells and the video REALLY does not give the effect. Again, the entire fanbase in the stadium is doing these yells at once. The video does not give you the effect of tens of thousands of people doing this in unison. It is MUCH louder than the video makes it seem.
In 1999, I was visiting my maid of honor in San Antonio & we went to the Alamo Bowl where Texas A&M played Penn State. Usually, I will cheer for other schools that are in the same conference as my favorite school (which is Nebraska), so I cheered for A&M at that game since they were in the Big 12. After seeing the HORRIBLE sportsmanship of the A&M fans, I promised myself I would NEVER cheer for them again! They were as bad as Colorado fans, but those fans are drunk (for a LONG TIME, Colorado was the only college that allowed alcohol at sporting events)!
@@augiegirl1 Well, I was just explaining the A&M part of the video since it was three different traditions edited together to look like part of one. But I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I know that EVERY fanbase has its bad actors, sadly, and I'm not going to act like A&M is an exception. All I can say is that I, personally, have never seen anything like that from more than a handful of people and that A&M generally has a reputation of being a pretty friendly bunch. Should you have the opportunity to go to another game, I hope you'll give them a second chance, but if not, I can't say I'd blame you.
@@Pseudowolf Unfortunately, the main issue I had was with the Yell Leaders (the guys in the white t-shirts); the things they were yelling for the crowd to repeat were, in my view, the DEFINITION of unsportsmanlike. I can only hope that this has changed in the last 25 years. Perhaps I was spoiled by the mutual respect that seemed to exist between most of the schools in the Big 12 at that time, following the example that was set by coaches like Tom Osborne, Bill Snyder, Barry Switzer, etc. To a large extent, that still exists between schools in the Big 10, where Nebraska plays now.
@@augiegirl1 Really? Now I am very curious as the yells they lead haven't really changed in *decades*. Do you remember what they were saying? I'm wondering if some fans decided to make up their own words to the yells, like LSU fans do for "Neck".
Yay! Oklahoma State University Cowboys was featured! Yes, that was from the film Tombstone. Sigh, it didn't show Pistol Pete (the mascot) or Bullet the horse. (Bullet isn't ridden by Pete, but the Spirit Rider.) Sometime during the game, they play Friends In Low Places by Garth Brooks because Garth went to school there. This didn't touch on the massive school rivalries. OSU & Oklahoma just ended a long rivalry (because OU left the conference) called Bedlam. Bedlam games (as with other notable CFB rivalries) were, well, bedlam...
Many of these towns are not close to a pro team so the college teams become the area or state’s team. This is the only way for some people to get to see a football team play live. The crowd is mostly students and parents of the players, band & cheerleaders followed by the local fans. I have to say having been to pro games and to college game…the are both a blast to go to.
Lol. It all reflects back to the ancient Roman Empire Colosseum and the gladiators lol. Just nowadays, opponents don't literally die in front of the crowds.
Auburn University started as East Alabama Male College in the 1800s. It then became Alabama Technical Institute (Alabama Tech) and in the 1920s locals began calling it Auburn University but the State Legislature did not change the name until 1960. During this time span the football team mascot went from being the Plainsmen to the API Eagles to the Auburn Tigers. Hence the reason for the odd mixture of traditions. The trained eagle act uses a Golden Eagle which has been injured and cannot be returned to the wild for this reason. Otherwise, it would be illegal to use a bird of prey.
to be fair, there are a lot of tigers. Clemson is the one with an awful costume- looks like a cartoon tiger on meth, Auburn is the one that confuses Tigers and Eagles, LSU is the one with a real tiger named Mike at the stadium to intimidate opposing players when they come out of the locker room, Memphis is the one that thinks Tigers are blue, Mizzou is the one that thinks tigers are yellow. so it is a lot to keep track of.
Georgia visited Note Dame several years ago, and impressed their team and fans with not only taking over about 40% of their stadium, but introducing them to a night game tradition of lighting up the stadium with their cell phone lights during the fourth quarter break. Notre Dame now has that as their tradition as well. This is a unique phenomenon compared to much of European sports, where American (as well as Canadian) teams and fan bases are sports rivals, but we respect and enjoy the competition of one another. It is what were consider "good natured competition". We will will curse the other teams name on the street, but welcome each other in every other aspect. While we revile the other team is word, we'll aslo invite the opposing fan to sample some of our barbecue, and make sure that they have a fresh beer in their hand (well at least in college football, and namely SEC). But note, for every "rule" you will always find exceptions.
Ive been to probably 40 college games, mostly in the souths and south east. Florida State tomahawk chop inforgetable, Florida vs Georgia in jacksonville most fun, loudest, texas A&M at aggie stafium 12th man. The dream is a november Notre Dame game. Been to maybe 20 stadiums, all are fun.
Texas Tech (the last team in the video) throws tortillas because in the 90’s an ignorant sportscaster said that the only thing in Lubbock, Texas was the college and a tortilla factory……VOILA’! A tradition was born😂 They go to great lengths to sneak them into the stadium because security confiscates them.
Somewhere in there was a snippet of Wabash Cannon Ball at a Kansas State game. Sorry I don't have the time stamp. Everything was purple. I don't know why they haven't shown the Rock Chalk Jay Hawk chant at the U. of Kansas. That is almost eery at some points.
5:29 if you want to talk about traditions, Texas A&M is probably the best school to look at lol Most other schools call us a cult because of our traditions 😂
Big universities in the US could have 30,000-70,000 students enrolled at all times. Everyone who ever attended or was employed by the school and cares about sports is probably a fan. Many are in smaller cities, and everyone in the local region is also a potential fan. So add that all together and you get a fairly large, personally dedicated, built-in fanbase. It's a huge deal for the big unis with top-level, successful sports programs, but there are a lot of lower tiers with minimal interest as well, sort of like the various levels of English football - not everyone plays in the Premier League and is on national television every week.
Teams in order: 1. Iowa Hawkeyes 2. Clemson Tigers 3. Auburn Tigers - War Eagle is their “battle cry” (but do you not see the size of that bird lol? Thats a full blown Bald Eagle. They like a flying German Shepherd. They’re huge.) The song is Swag Surfin, look it up. 4. Georgia Bulldogs 5. Norte Dame Fightin Irish 6. Florida Gators 7. Texas A&M Aggies - (Not Bama) 8. Nebraska Cornhuskers - (song is Let Me Clear My Throat - DJ Kool) which was recorded live in 1996 at the Bahama Bay Club in Philly. 9. Texas Longhorns 10. Chokelahoma Sooners 11. I have no clue who that is. Kinda looks like Utah 12. Kansas Jayhawks 13. Mississippi State Bulldogs 14. Oklahoma State Cowboys 15. West Virginia Mountaineers 16. Texas Tech Red Raiders
9:20 hate to see its pretty bad quality on that vid, but we also sing I've Got Friends In Low Places (Garth Brooks) between the 3rd and 4th quarters if we're winning. Unreal experience. Also yes that is tombstone XD
10:34 those are tortillas. Texas tech has two traditions 1) when the come on the field they are preceded by a masked rider in all black in a black horse who fires off (fake) guns as she rides across the field. 2) throw tortillas on the field when something good happens. This tradition has been cracked down on in the past few years and students have been getting suspended for it
Clanga clanga! Hail State! I have to say, though, at least we don't ring them for the entire game like we used to before we went through that period when the SEC banned them. As much as I love them, I am glad we at least have rules to follow now and choreography, which makes it more fun. Well, at least for us Dawgs. Oh, and surely we aren't as annoying as baseball's Vandy Whistler! Gah!
Clemson Tigers-Clemson, South Carolina. Auburn-Auburn, Georgia. Georgia Bulldogs - University of Georgia - Athens, Georgia (Austin Brown wears their team shirts). I couldn’t figure out where that next one was. Florida Gators - University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. Texas A&M - College Station, Texas (first college in Texas). Nebraska Cornhuskers- University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Lincoln, NE University of Texas - Longhorns , Austin, TX Oklahoma Sooners-University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK. No clue as to the next one. Not sure, but the next one may have been LSU-Louisiana State University Mississippi State-Bulldogs-Starkville, MS. You got the next two!
I said this on the original video, too; it’s REDICULOUS that the Nebraska clip didn't show the TUNNEL WALK! When the stadium first got the large video screen in 1994, the audio-visual people put together an animated video that would play on the screen as part of Pre-game. One of the best Tunnel Walk videos is from the game vs. Rice; the first college football game played after 9/11, on Sept. 20th. The video title is: Nebraska Tunnel Walk vs. Rice, 9-11 tribute Something no one else has mentioned: Nebraska holds the ONGOING record for the most consecutive sellouts in college sports, going back to 1962; the 4th game of this coming fall (on September 20th) will be the 400th.
College football is Americas best kept secret. It’s so much better than NFL and filled to the brim with rivalries, history, and tradition. It also means more than the NFL bc it’s much more related to specific regions, so the fans are incredibly passionate
AMEN!!
Nfl feels so fake and curated compared to college football
I’d say College Football is more interesting now due to the new playoff rules. Makes the sport much more entertaining.
LET'S GO!!!!!!...........MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!!!!! I grew up just outside Beckley, WV and have been to a few WVU games. Its a pretty awesome experience
Can't forget Pitt and sweet caroline
I'm a Kentucky native and fan through and through... but Alabama's Dixieland Delight tradition is my favorite. "FUCK AUBURN... AND TENNESSEE TOO!" lmaooo
Go Gators!!!!
That ain’t no hawk- That’s a War Eagle, baby
As a lifelong UGA fan, I must say the Eagle flying around the stadium is an awesome tradition.

I don't give a damn about nothing but the tide baby!!! 😅
To add Auburn has a world class raptor center as part of their vet school to rehabilitate birds of prey.
I was very sad that he thought it was a hawk
War Damn Eagle!!!🦅 the Eagle flight before every home game is the most amazing experience!!! I have been to 30 home games since I was 5 I am 36 now and it’s amazing every time!!!
They’ve used the Eagle also recently for some Philadelphia Eagles home games
4:30 is Notre Dame Fightin Irish
home night games are a fairly new tradition there
The NFL is NOTHING compared to college football.
4:02 Krypton Fanfare (from Superman) at UGA.
Our band also played it before our fight song when I was in high school. Gives me chills!

1:48 that is Clemson out of South Carolina. 4:46 Notre Dame out of Southbend Indiania the fighting Irish.
You're right. They did cut those a bit short.
Nebraska is ALWAYS packed to the brim. They haven't had a home game that wasnt sold out in 396 games and they're still going. The first game of the streak was November 3rd 1962
Thumbs up for the cowbell. Mississippi state. Extra was not knowing ole miss. Ahhaha

8:27 is Kansas State with the Wabash Cannonball. the tradition dates back to 1968, when a fire wiped out most of the band's music and instruments and the song was one of the only surviving pieces of sheet music.

Rammer Jammer is a Hotty Toddy adaptation, not the other way around!
7:41 - Yeah, that's Oklahoma. They're shouting "Boomer!.. Sooner!"
For some reason, the football entrance video you watched left out the part where they had their horses and wagon being ran across the field in front of the players.
I just stumbled on your channel the game you were referring to where it was a small clip where the lights went out was Notre Dame the fighting Irish!
If you’re really interested and looking for some short form
reaction content, I’d recommend looking into top high school football/athletic facilities. Same for college actually too. Their training facilities are top tier.
I was in the crowd during the WVU vs. Baylor game. We sing country roads after every victory and it is always a surreal and beautiful moment.
0:22 This part is awesome. It’s a fairly new tradition because the Stead Family Children’s Hospital only opened about seven years ago.

Hi Lyle, glad you are enjoying these!
Sir, greetings from Pakistan. Brilliant reactions indeed as always. Great atmosphere! Sir, there were no coke studio season 15 releases during this week. Some are saying that they are taking a break.
I bet so many parents were pissed lol
@@crazydrummer181 nope! They loved it, and it's an ongoing tradition going on for 20 years now.

These happen every week for 5 months out of the year. And every single game is this hype, if not more hype for bigger games & every game has just as many fans as the last game! You should check out high school football, I think you’d be surprised how big that is too
And that doesn't even cover the tailgating!
@4:14 That's at the University of Notre Dame (located in South Bend, Indiana).
Everyone except Mississippi State fans hate cowbells at games
Which means that they are doing their job. Lol
That's the point
I love that some of the other teams actually practice with recordings of the cowbells ringing before playing us.
Go Rebs
Cowbell best bell :)
@@Pseudowolf
Unfortunately, the main issue I had was with the Yell Leaders (the guys in the white t-shirts); the things they were yelling for the crowd to repeat were, in my view, the DEFINITION of unsportsmanlike.
It’s so damn loud at Davis Wade Stadium. The cowbells will literally leave ringing in your ears by the time you leave.
July 3rd and I cannot fricken wait for that first saturday of College football.
Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer give'em hell Alabama Roll Tide Roll
As you can tell there is HUGE money in college sports in the US.
You need to spend time on the Army-Navy game a true college football spectacle
to be fair, there are a lot of tigers.
The last one was Texas Tech were they throw tortillas on kickoffs that is what was flying onto the field
Georgia Bulldog here from the SEC. Also from the South.
There are videos on TH-cam about the sizes of college football stadiums. They're kind of amazing.
#4, is hard to tell but I originally thought Penn State but my new guess is Notre Dame
I snuck tortillas in my crotch a couple games LOL
Check out the ARMY VS NAVY . Florida, Penn state WHITE OUT. And LSU
Yo I found Kirby Smart at 7:21 in Texas Burnt Orange 😂😂
The West Virginia clip left out the best part. When they play Pittsburgh, during the song they chant “Eat shit Pitt”
You gotta do all of Florida State. You have no idea what that horse does next
Texas tech at the end is throwing tortillas on the opening kickoff
5:29 if you want to talk about traditions, Texas A&M is probably the best school to look at lol
Most other schools call us a cult because of our traditions 😂
Big universities in the US could have 30,000-70,000 students enrolled at all times. Everyone who ever attended or was employed by the school and cares about sports is probably a fan. Many are in smaller cities, and everyone in the local region is also a potential fan. So add that all together and you get a fairly large, personally dedicated, built-in fanbase.
It's a huge deal for the big unis with top-level, successful sports programs, but there are a lot of lower tiers with minimal interest as well, sort of like the various levels of English football - not everyone plays in the Premier League and is on national television every week.
Ohio state recruits aussie punters. Latest is i think nick mcclarty.
Teams in order:
1. Iowa Hawkeyes
2. Clemson Tigers
3. Auburn Tigers - War Eagle is their “battle cry” (but do you not see the size of that bird lol? Thats a full blown Bald Eagle. They like a flying German Shepherd. They’re huge.) The song is Swag Surfin, look it up.
4. Georgia Bulldogs
5. Norte Dame Fightin Irish
6. Florida Gators
7. Texas A&M Aggies - (Not Bama)
8. Nebraska Cornhuskers - (song is Let Me Clear My Throat - DJ Kool) which was recorded live in 1996 at the Bahama Bay Club in Philly.
9. Texas Longhorns
10. Chokelahoma Sooners
11. I have no clue who that is. Kinda looks like Utah
12. Kansas Jayhawks
13. Mississippi State Bulldogs
14. Oklahoma State Cowboys
15. West Virginia Mountaineers
16. Texas Tech Red Raiders
'Choke-lahoma' is RIGHT! 😂
It’s 4:30 pm and ou still sucks ! 🤘
12. Is the K-State Wildcats baby, ya know the team that has beaten the Jayhawks 15 years in a row. EMAW
9:20 hate to see its pretty bad quality on that vid, but we also sing I've Got Friends In Low Places (Garth Brooks) between the 3rd and 4th quarters if we're winning. Unreal experience. Also yes that is tombstone XD
Somebody send him a cowbell!!
You should check out some actual plays from college football
Check out Nebraska thunderstruck
10:34 those are tortillas. Texas tech has two traditions
1) when the come on the field they are preceded by a masked rider in all black in a black horse who fires off (fake) guns as she rides across the field.
2) throw tortillas on the field when something good happens. This tradition has been cracked down on in the past few years and students have been getting suspended for it
Hail State!!!
As a Alabama fan we have to play Mississippi state and those cow bells are annoying as fk.
Gah!
There are soooo many college teams called the tigers man 😅
Clemson Tigers-Clemson, South Carolina.
Nebraska Cornhuskers- University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Lincoln, NE
University of Texas - Longhorns , Austin, TX
Oklahoma Sooners-University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK.
No clue as to the next one.
Not sure, but the next one may have been LSU-Louisiana State University
Mississippi State-Bulldogs-Starkville, MS.
You got the next two!
Notre Dame was the one after Georgia
@@mickeydooley2230 Thanks! All I could see was a sea of green.
After Oklahoma was university of Mississippi aka Ole Miss doing hotty toddy. Then Kansas state doing wabash cannonball
Auburn is in Auburn, Alabama
If you want check out Major League Baseball head shots. Some if those balls speed is over 100 miles per hour.
Rice, 9-11 tribute
Something no one else has mentioned: Nebraska holds the ONGOING record for the most consecutive sellouts in college sports, going back to 1962; the 4th game of this coming fall (on September 20th) will be the 400th.
I also like the Michigan State "SPARTANS! WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION!?!!
watch stephen fry goes to a college football game .
Yes that is great 👍
Notre Dame is the one where you said "Where the hell are we?"
You should react to the “Iowa Wave”. One of the newer traditions.
I can promise you that you would lose your mind at these games!
