This parent is not consistent with discipline, frustration builds and exploding anger follows.

Children are humiliated. "Godly" Parents are hypocrites.
Children learn that God is not consistent or orderly. He's not gentle.

I always wanted to be a professional classical musician and my narcissistic mother forced me to study Tourism because she wasn't interned in music as a profession herself....and she was interested in traveling although I really wasn't.
They forced me to do in my extra time whatever other family members did (dancing, skiing, karate, theater,...) instead of the extracurricular activities I cared about.
Disciplining your children doesn't mean turning them into yourself.
Now I'm stuck in a career path that I hate and in the best case scenario I might have what I always wish was my profession as a hobby.
