    I love this. The music. The fur babies watching mom's struggles. You can just tell Gibson was desperate to help but couldn't. And seeing the tree frogs up close. Super quality work Lisa, and thanks for the laugh. Your studio looks like a pinterest post now.

    Oh Lisa! Everything looks fantastic. You really worked your butt off making the new place into something very beautiful - and functional! I really enjoyed this tour and getting to see your Studio, your babies, and the new cabinet. When you have closed doors, all that psychological noise of clutter goes 'shhhhhh.' Well done, you! Very nice!

    I love this!! My art studio is what used to be my old playroom. Its a spare bedroom in my house that my parents repurposed as a playroom for me when we moved in. I changed it into an art studio when I outgrew the playroom phase. (it has walk in closet with lots of shelving but i know if i ever got a cabinet like that, my dad would be installing it because Im not allowed anywhere near his workstation! Me and tools are a disaster waiting to happen 🤣

I do have a similar house but I live with my family members and some of them are hoarders, I did have a beautiful space but it's gotten invaded by the hoarders so I had to move my beautiful studio into my bedroom in order to keep it safe.

It is important that our creative space is a happy space. Great video Lisa, really enjoyed seeing you experiment with something different.
    Have you got a ratchet screwdriver? That’s what I use for IKEA building. A power driver is going to cause problems due to lack of precision. I’ve built a tonne of it over the years and no blisters yet.
    Excellent slippers, I have some dinosaur feet ones I love, but I think yours are cooler. Can’t believe you build furniture in bare feet! Your poor toes.
    I’d recommend lining your beautiful cabinet with heat seal barrier film such as moistop to reduce damage from volatile organic compounds coming out of the wood. Not sure what it’s called in the states, a museum conservator should be able to advise. You essentially iron it on.
    Excellent plant theatres. That’s my next project for my miniature studio. But I will be using a power driver for those, and trying to turn an old bed into shelving.
    Glad you’ve been able have such a lovely home. I’m so impressed how put together it looks so quickly. I’m still in a building site after two years.

    Hey, I like your studio. It's looks fantastic. I wanted to mention something about the closet storage you have. The way that you open the door inward, it would be easier if the door could swing outward into the hallway and can step into it more easy. Not sure if you knew that but, anyway, it look great. I also watch your vedio on the 10 things not to do when painting with acrylic, you were very helpful there, although I did knew something had be with the canvas or paint or maybe both. But you high lighted some other issue there too. So thanks.

    The cabinet is a classy touch to that magnificent studio of yours. Just a word of advice for *next time* you have those huge boxes to deal with - put an old blanket underneath as best you can before you push/pull those big heavy boxes. That will help move those boxes easier AND save your beautiful floors from scratches.

    • @Lachri
      @Lachri  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      These are tile floors, no scratches here! I loooove real wood floors but I don't trust myself not to destroy them lol. I considered a blanket just to make it easier, but it would be too hard to balance the big one and keep that blanket where I wanted at the same time. It was just an awkward weight distribution. :D

      They are just floor spotlights aimed at the wall. They aren't plant lights. Keeping the plants watered isn't a big deal. Only the begonias have to be watched really closely, most of the rest don't want water more than once a week :)

    Tipp for the Future. Just Open the Box in the hallway and Carry the pieces seperatly into the Studio. Easier and better for your Back.

  • @WindspielArt
    @WindspielArt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think your definition of need is the same as mine xD I totally shouldn't buy more art supplies or books or books or fabrics but every time I see something that excites me I NEED it! (Same wit creative hobbies and other plans... -.- have more then I can ever finish and the list keeps growing)
    And maybe it would have been easier to open the boxes in your hallway and carry the single planks to your studio? (But I had that idea only after I had the same problem with an 33kg heavy gaming chair, delivered in pieces, I had to bring to the 2nd floor alone... After I had it upstairs (don't know how I did this to be honest...) I thought I should have opened it downstairs xD)
    Edit after finish watching the video: that cabinet looks great! It looks much bigger then the shelf before but it isn't that much bigger is it? And I looooooove that mural in your studio.

    • @Lachri
      @Lachri  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think there should be a different word for when an artist "needs" something haha. I
      For moving the boxes, these ones were heavy but not so much that I couldn't move it. I've had some things I had to open out on the porch where they were dropped off so that I could bring in the parts individually. That was rough lol.

    Your dog wants to help so badly... I think he might be more help than your supervisors Glen and Amy. ;) Good job though I know the pain of this and trying to figure out slot A into slot B instructions.

    My studio looks exactly like yours except mine looks like a 200 year old redwood tree fell on it and then the remains were put in a giant blender and then dumped on railroad tracks - but otherwise exactly the same. . . sigh. . .

    Tried the doors. Problem is that even if you have the doors in place,my essientials are not insinc with my husbands. The main problem is that we have two desks sitting in a room half the size of your studio. So when the store reopens one will resort to all hail Ikea shelves, ditch the hidious closeet,wich lets face it, when you open it the stuff stubles out like an avalanche. But since the lockdown we have not been able to visit non essential stores here ( Ikea is not amused) and EU's regulations on that,tho different per country,are unusually strict with policing the rules. Even where I live in the netherlands. Problem is that the room is deffinately to small for two desks and I lack the mood or the energy to hoist myself to an attic space that is not suitable for art. So we need an IIKEA intervention. BAD. I so hope IKEA is reading along and takes pitty on my poor room :P
