I know I'm late on this comment, but sadly, this may never happen. The original episode with the body swap between Sam and the teen age kid was supposed to be a body swap between Sam and Dean. The producers, as well as J2, thought it'd be over the top and decided it's not an avenue they want to pursue. Now, it's been nearly seven or so years since they've hammered that into our heads at the conventions, but I don't think ANYONE knew they'd hit 12 seasons. That said, it's still possible. Buuuuuuut.....J2 are very possessive of Sam and Dean and if the script doesn't feel right for the characters, it's not gonna happen. While it's fun to think of, I think it'd be too campy...even for SPN. I would like to see another Dean. I mean, four episodes of Deanmon just wasn't fair, and even Ackles said that. So, let's wait it out. Sam's brain is so scrambled, I don't think he knows who he is anymore. Time to let Jensen really show off other dimensions of his acting range. We've had vignettes of Dean, eg "Yellow Fever" Dean, Executive Dean Smith, and Dog!Dean, but we've never had an actual season arc with Dean as someone else. Maybe an ancient god...ooh. I don't count Blade!Dean because that was just Dean being more angsty than usual. Would like to see him explore new ground.
