It's interesting to see what Penn State looked like in 1955. If you know anything about the university's history, you know that this was the year that Penn State President Milton S. Eisenhower (brother of Dwight) applied to the state government for university status. Pennsylvania State College became Pennsylvania State University.
I'll *assume* that the "early 20th century" and "Prohibition" scenes were authentic, and not filmed retroactively in 1955. It's interesting, though, that they didn't use the 1920s song, "Collegiana," by Fred Waring and His Pennsylvanians. (They were Penn State graduates, and the song mentions Penn State.)
It's very interesting to see the old Willard Building entrance, without the Willard Preacher out front. Also, did anyone notice that when the ROTC cadets are marching across the campus, they are playing the Sousa march that later became the theme song for "Monty Python's Flying Circus?"

One comment... even though this video was uploaded 4 yrs ago in 2016??? Where's the comment that's no longer there... that I made? Funny how when you try to address the topic of rape culture things miraculously disappear. Also this film is not a true documentary. Too many things don't fit. The Tavern serving beer in 1930--DURING PROHIBITION? Also that Nicky Hokey guy probably has questionable references. Fraternities and football are the scourges of university culture that need to be eliminated if academia is to succeed in its mission to educate the world.
