The hordes of Electras are Axels biggest threat, no good way to get in there close and pound them, long range, anti-air, and that dastardly jump kick. I think more throws, as you started to do late level 3, to get guys in big grand upper groups was the key to not getting tappled to death. You really picked it up in the 4 elevator with the first set of Yakuza, took it to them at 35:15. And did you just call Donovan a Wiggly Horsefaced Mcgee?
Fun fact... I thought I'd amuse chat by doing a running "Grand Upper" count. However I abandoned this after counting sixty-six on the very first SCREEN (everything up to the Jacks, and I was mostly going on audio cues so I may have lowballed it) and realising that my soul was not going to survive doing this for every single screen. Especially Hellevator. "Axel's just a punching bag"... Yep, this is why Axel was the character who had the reputation of "least fun". He has basically zero movement tech so you get stuck in cycles of "Grand Upper, get hit on recovery, repeat". Blaze and especially Skate were worse (oh dear God, Skate) but Blaze at least could be fun to play. This was always one of my problems with SoR2 - if you want a character who's interesting AND doesn't feel underpowered, you have only Max as an option. I know there are pros who will swear by Skate, but for us casuals, there was only ever one choice - Max. Axel's boring and one-dimensional, Blaze is interesting but lacks finishing power, and Skate is Skate. Also, on a lighter note, the way you got so angry yelling "I hit the gosh darn BUTTON!" made me feel kinda bad for the button. :D

I read the wall, now my eyes are all Wiggly Woggly. My favorite parts of this Hack are: 1) The Abadede fight that starts normal then gets swarmed by goons. 2) Souther with Jets that NEVER STOP COMMING! 3) The random extra Talk that shows up before 7 Robot Boss. 4) The, after Mr. X goes down, swarm of enemies (I hated this the first time I saw it. It ended me) Thanks for the wall :)
I realized Signals strength. its not a throwing alone/sliding/backhand bitch slapping, his true power is un-wanting-ly throwing you pass food items and weapons of no return.. u drop the sword and this sonic the hedgehog hair due fuck forces the screen to shift right bringing more enemies and losing important items that's Signals true power
I'm the best Max player in the world; so that helps. Max has the fastest attack transitions (think Axel's Grand Upper and how much downtime it has). Max is more difficult to learn but when you get good he has a lot of tools. Plus he does a lot of damage :)
Quick succession of grabs and grapple attacks with massive damage, lots of possible moves that all clear space including both special attacks, plus the fantastic slide transitional attack that sets up the grapples. Axel is mostly a one trick pony, especially when there are 9 enemies on the screen.
In 1 Adam's my favorite but he's slow so Blaze is easier to play with on higher difficulties. Axel works really well in 2 but he might be my least favorite because he's so basic. Axel in 3 is my least favorite character but I love Super Axel, he might be my favorite if you count him :)
@@Anthopants the reason why SOR3 axel is my favorite is because he can run basically free to do whatever I want with him the other versions of him are slow I can't get around like that with them I'm not really a fan of slow characters that's the reason why Max Thunder was never for me but I'm willing to give his updated self a chance
In SoR2 with Axel. You just stand there and wait... It's not a playstyle for everyone. Max is fast with his slide and thunder tackle but he does walk very slow, can't ever get to the health with him :)

@@mkep10 axel has decent grapples, you need to grapple to be able to survive because it helps to group enemies
@@Santiago-Farrell Axels grapples and overhead flip are useful in regular mania, not his actual grapple attacks though.
I know the mania plus difficulty is flat out irritating but it looks fun at the same time
It's a lot of fun but requires intensity to win :)

I’ve watched the random videos before using Skate without getting damaged in the whole game. He most likely uses vaulting throws.

I can't lie I didn't like axel in Sor1&2 he grew on me in SOR3 so yeah I prefer SOR3 axel even over the updated version of him

In SoR2 he's saying Grand Upper. In SoR3 or Bare Knuckle III, depending on the version he says Bare Knuckle in one and Grand Upper in the other :)
In SOR3 he is saying Bare Knuckle, in BK3 its GRAND UPPAH
