The first NINE finishers all set personal bests in this race. That was truly impressive. Without Emma Coburn and Courtney Frerichs I didn’t believe the US had a chance at a medal. Now I have a different opinion.
My guess is she was having some sort of mental problem when approaching the water jump, intimidated or at least not trusting her footing, and the side-step she'd identified previously was a way to feel more secure, by finding some rhythm with it, that helped when taking the jump.
@@Whopsie12 Your point is very solid! I don't know her situation, so it might be a stretch, but the huge lead she took makes sense if she had some problems with hurdling and wanted to avoid issues around the water jump or other hurdles
Just my feeling but that was the most exciting final so far~ They ran with their heart and for sure gave their all..plus. Good Luck Team USA! Triumph with defeet.
Done? I think she ran a PR. My heart breaks for her. I loved how she posted her journey on TH-cam. She gave it her all and sometimes it doesn’t work out. Extremely brave in my book.
That was Allie O eventhough she didn't get her Olympic dream (this time) congratulating her fellow Boise alum Marisa. Thats class.
Allie O congratulating her competitor brought tears to my eyes. She's such a good sport.
What a race!! The top group was incredible. Also so proud of Allie getting her PB - it was so amazing seeing her journey.

Marisa Howard is the definition of Grit
NBC broadcasts an entire distance race! What a novel idea!
They didn't show the whole race. The clock jumped from about 2:05 to 3:40 at one point.
Markezich hit the last water hurdle causing her to land awkwardly. I feel for her.
Thanks for all these clips, much appreciated :)
Rodenfels was doing the Christiano Ronaldo shuffle
Or a country line dance
Our kenyans are in trouble the american women certainly close better. beatrice had better set off at world record pace
Kenyans run 855 these girl are pb ing in 903 and 7 etc
Nah very unlikely any of the americans medal
Hardly a mention of Marisa Howard.
sad Allie O didn't make it. so proud of her.
Omg poor Markezich
She literally face planted, clearly tied as hell.
that was such a crazy end
What were those sidesteps Rodenfels took multiple times right before the water jumps? I'm curious to know what happened to her.

She was doing it before the normal jumps too

Wonderful
What happened to Krissy?
ya that’s what I would like to know. She got DNF but I can’t see what happened because the camera is always on the front pack of runners
Teigen?
Why do we keep seeing a person at the end of the video that has nothing to do with the Olympic trials?
These are the people kindly supplying the video. Grateful to be able to watch it ty ❤
Gotta be some scummy copyright loophole
they are doing the lord's work uploading these clips!. the end is to prevent a copyright issue
Ostrander is done
Dang it
dang, This race was really fast. She might have made a PB.

She's nowhere near done, she did a phenomenal job
7th place, PR of 9:21.82 to beat prior best of 9:24.70, and beat the Olympic standard of 9:23.00. I suspect Allie is pretty happy with that outcome.
