As an s-presso owner, I can totally relate to what you saw. The engine refinement on s-presso is very nicely done. My friends were surprised with the acceleration it gives on the first gear. I have observed wheel spin when driving on a slippery incline while carrying 4 people, which is extremely rare in a car of this segment. When I drive alone, I literally get the kickback if I launch it in first gear. I wish the car had a tachometer, it would've been fun if I could see the revs it gives while launching.

I have tiago, but I feel spresso is better car in terms of engine refinement, Tiago's AC is third class and lot of vibration as compared to spresso. After driving my friends spresso, i regret my choice

Both tiago and s presso are good in their own way. Tiago has good safety features and good build quality while s presso has good refined engine, better mileage, more power due to higher power to weight ratio and better reliability due to vast service network of maruti.

I think new technology in Maruti lineup as they now incorporate variable valve technology this bring extremely flat torque curve and Maruti more expertise in smaller capacity engine which bring unexpected performance on these engine
weight more or less same in both vehicles as s.presso has three occupants in comparsion to tiago two passenger's. By the way they should have competed with both petrol varient's.
